[Question] how did your partner respond when you began to suspect you may be on the spectrum but undiagnosed?
  • I didn't think I was, but after my wife and son said I was I took some online evaluations. Since then I've read more and more about it. I've shared some of my atypical behaviors, like being a little too literal sometimes, having difficulties in conversations, with my wife and it has given her a better perspective that has curbed things we previously argued about. I think I'm seeing more why I don't quite understand other people, and my wife sometimes, so that helps preventing arguments.

  • The Broad Autism Phenotype Questionnaire
  • Thanks for that. I did skim the article, but didn't find the definitions for each of the three. I have taken other tests. I'm mostly helped to understand how I act and interact, and it helps my wife see me differently, mostly in the different perspective I have and when I'm stuck on something but she's moved on. I'll look at the other links, too.

  • The Broad Autism Phenotype Questionnaire
  • I'm over the top on all, too. 4.5, 3.67, and 3.5 I'm not diagnosed autistic, but my wife and son thinks I am, and on all other tests I'm in range. Where is the details on what these results mean?

  • igniter for gas burner
  • Is there a better solution? It would be nice if there was something (not complicated) that would auto restart if the flame went out. I'm just trying to figure out a good option and open to suggestions.

  • igniter for gas burner

Has anyone added an electric igniter to their gas burner, to start or restart by button press their burner? Bolt it to the side, so the igniter is just under where the flame is, and the button is on the leg of the burner. Something like this MENSI Double Ignition kit Electronic igniter with high Spark Plug Wire Length 450mm Each for Catering euqipment Stove https://a.co/d/aPxAqWn

What is your favorite method of stimming?
  • Thumb to finger taps. I do this often, more when getting nervous. I tap teeth to each other, too, feeling like I'm tapping one top to one bottom at a time. Going all the way around to tap all my teeth. I realized I'm tapping multiple teeth each time, but it's a tap for each pair of teeth.

  • What are some of your quirks?
  • Counting steps in 4s on same surfaces, keep even-evens (2 steps each foot, 4 total) on the same surface. Watch ahead to know I'll need to adjust steps when surface is going to change to keep to the 4 steps counts. I don't like stepping on those bumpy surfaces at crosswalks that are indicators for blind people. I step over those.

  • A Gen Xer's Thoughts on Strange New Worlds
  • Biggest thing about Strange New Worlds is it isn't trying to be too much, like Discovery. Discovery seemed to want to project an agenda. Strange tells an episodic story, with a little more overarching story, but not too much, enjoyable. In that regard it harkens back to the original Star Trek. I enjoy single stories encapsulated in individual episodes, and not a lot of pushing hard on some agenda.
