  • Read the article. It's like journalists are actively trying to lose his bid for re-election through misleading headlines...

  • They have emotional support. It can be friends, therapy, groups, or bare minimum some personal resources that they can access if things get rough. It's impossible to be someone's only support. They will drag you down with them.

To add to that- they have a positive and receptive view of therapy.

  • It doesn't seem to be streaming anywhere, so anyone who doesn't have an excessive amount to spend on a TV series won't be giving any profits to the creators.

  • I live in Texas but have never looked into solar. The fight to switch to renewable energy will be a long one because of the politicians. Texas makes a shit ton of money from oil. Politicians will continue to convince citizens that renewable energy is dangerous, ill-conceived, and "woke" so that we stick to traditional resources. There's nothing stopping someone from getting solar panels, but I'd assume it would be more expensive. I don't know if there has to be prior infrastructure in place, because that would be a problem. Some people don't even have fast internet in the Houston suburbs because they don't want to lay all the wire for only 100 people.

  • Do they really?

  • I learned a lot about siberians when I took to the internet to figure out why my stray kitten was so weird. Fun fact- they don't reach maturity until 6 years old. Mine is 9 and still hasn't gotten there.

They do make good pets for people who prefer dogs but want more chaos in the house.

  • Chickens got hit with a bird flu during the start of the pandemic, which made egg prices even higher. A big reason for the drop in price was because the farmers were able to stabilize. It's probably 50/50 between the fowl epidemic and inflation.

  • What's the easiest way to find communities across different instances? If I could figure that out, I would just forget about reddit.

  • RiF just kicked me out. I think reddit is trying to do another sweep to break unofficial apps/plug-ins/etc.

  • Revanced released an update that fixes it. RiF is working for me again.

  • I think the issue is that Lemmy is still developing and we don't know what it's going to look like even 6 months from now. $20 for unlimited access isn't bad at all if you know you'll get your money's worth. I'm still hesitant with Lemmy because there are features that it lacks. I'm optimistic that they will be added, but I can't be sure.

  • Where could I find that workaround?

  • I've been enjoying Connect. It's much simpler than the other apps I've tried.

  • I got an error message telling me that something was wrong with my user agent. Is that what you got, too?

  • It's a gamble, too. One ICU visit would cost you more than you'd ever pay in taxes for universal health care. Insurance wouldn't be necessary, so that $300/mo that covers your family would stay in your pocket.

BUT, there's the tiny chance that you and your loved ones are super-human and will never have to pay for medical care beyond a cold or cough every few years. Then you can really stick that in the faces of poor people!!

It's so stupid because people who have health insurance are handing over that money to a company where the profits help no one as opposed to the government, where the profits would help other people. It's still a gamble.

  • Have you checked out Signal? It's the most secure messaging app out there. Not even the US' alphabet agencies can retrieve encrypted texts sent through Signal. It's pretty much what whatsapp claims to be.

  • Research. Are you wanting something similar to reddit/lemmy/kbin/mastodon, something like whatsapp, or something like discord?
