  • If a team wants to exclude trans women who consistently outperform their competition, fine, as long as they also exclude cis women who are equally high performers. I don't think that would be smart, but I also don't think it's like morally objectionable. If they want to exclude all trans women regardless of performance and not exclude high performing cis women, then it's not about fairness, it's about discrimination.

I'm no sports expert though, and I would guess the majority of trans women don't play any sports, so I feel like this issue really doesn't need to be seen as so important. I'd say leave it to the actual players to figure out

  • I also don't think gendered sports need to exist, just have people try out and be put into classes based on their performance instead of gender. The current system is kind of unfair to everyone because there are some sports that only have one gendered team in a lot of places. Like at my university I think only men can play rugby. I don't know enough about sports to know how to properly implement a good system, but I'm sure it could be figured out and probably end up making sports more fun for everybody. Either way, strength definitely doesn't completely follow gender or sex, my friends who are cis women could absolutely beat me up.

  • Yeah I think that's a great solution. If you're comfortable going to the bathroom around other people then you can quickly use the urinal side and be on your way or if you can't or aren't comfortable you can use the private side. It's the best of both worlds

  • Gendered bathrooms are a stupid idea to begin with, no one wants to be in a big room with a bunch of other people going to the bathroom. I only ever use single person unisex bathrooms because they're cleaner, they're quieter, I feel safer, etc. I think most other trans people would do the same if they could. If trans people have no choice but to use a gendered restroom, it's safer for everyone involved if they just go to the bathroom of their actual gender instead of their agab/sex/whatever word you want. But the long term solution that will make both cis and trans people happier is replacing all the stupid gendered bathrooms with private unisex bathrooms.

  • Go get a hobby instead of just trying to "um actually" people because you don't like them being happy. I don't care what your beliefs are, trans people aren't hurting you so just let people be

  • I needed to crop a couple of images a few days ago and completely forgot about graphical editors. I spent like 10 minutes repeatedly using imagemagick with slightly tweaked parameters until I liked the crop

  • Clabretro videos (amazing youtube channel by the way go watch him) got me into old networking stuff and I just ordered an old Adtran switch because I needed PoE for some old Cisco stuff. I should get a little S sticker to make it Adtrans to make my network more gender themed

  • Wait guys this person is so right. We can hurt the rich so easily if we just hurt everyone at once! Quick let's go put lead in the drinking water and destroy the food supply! While we're at it we could blow up new york, I hear a lot of rich people live there so that'll be super worth it
