Just sent a client proposal which took a long time to complete and I know I'm being pitted against one other business for this work. Fingers crossed it comes through to me, but we'll see. The other business is far more established / has a team of staff so it feels like I can't compete, but I gave it a real crack. I've had a few proposals fall through recently which has knocked my confidence a bit (but at least they were quick to prepare), I really hope this one doesn't end up a huge waste of time.
At the same shopping centre where this weekβs pumpkin projectile happened to me and I witness another loud confrontation between staff v shoplifter, this time at Aldi. I kept my distance and eyes on them the entire time. What is happening though? Twice in a week while Iβm here. I honestly donβt feel that safe coming here anymore.
Edit - I was influenced and purchased the garlic dip. Garlic bomb incoming πΆβπ«οΈ
Much better today! My head is still sore to the touch where I was hit but the headaches are reducing. Still a bit sensitive to super bright lights and loud people but I was never a fan of either to begin with haha
Gosh I feel like I've been a total shut in this week with what happened to me, catching up on work and the cold weather. Winter hibernation mode is activating big time. I've got a birthday dinner tomorrow night and actually looking forward to some social time with friends, I really need it.
In winter I think it's bad to be nocturnal, you need Vitamin D exposure. In other seasons, you'll get enough incidental Vitamin D exposure, so as long as being nocturnal doesn't reduce your mood.
My head still hurts this morning, it feels like a bad headache. Trying to do some work but my motivation is pretty low. Still wondering why me? Of all the people gawking at this guy going nuts, I was the one he singled out.
I called the police last night to ask why I hadn't been contacted yet, a sergeant got in contact with me and apologised that the officers at the scene didn't even ask for my details when I told them what happened. The guy had only been charged with property destruction offences before I called, what happened to me wasn't even recorded. What a joke right? I'm giving a statement on Friday.
All clear from the GP - he just said to monitor during the next 24 hours for swaying movements or anything else unusual, if that happens then I need to go hospital.
The $110 bill for the appointment was a sting but my usual bulk billing doctor closes at 6pm and the other one in my area was fully booked, didn't have a choice. I reckon the shopping centre management should be paying, not me.
I booked an appointment with my local GP in 30 mins to get checked out. If they say I should go to the ER I will go. So far I feel ok, just sore and I can feel a lump. Thank you though, this is what I needed to hear!
I was at the shopping centre earlier, paying for stuff at the fruit shop. I hear all this yelling and see a guy going nuts from a security guard confronting him over stealing something from a store. He starts shouting and causing destruction - knocking store displays over, hitting fruit and vegetables from displays onto the ground and was coming closer to me. I turn around and start pushing my trolley back from the register to get away from him. While I was turned around he picked up a giant pumpkin from a display next to the register and threw it right at the back of my head. This was a massive grey pumpkin, like a rock to the head. Now Iβm sitting here with an ice pack to my head wondering why me. Thankfully no bleeding and I feel ok so far, just sore.
I reported it to centre management and made myself known to the police before I left. Surely this is some kind of assault.
Happy birthday! π
