CrowdStrike’s faulty update crashed 8.5 million Windows devices, says Microsoft
  • One comment said that they found files on affected machines which consisted or mostly garbage and/or zeroes. This mostly happens when one of the machines pushing the update to the distribution servers has faulty memory. You can workaround those errors if you use checksums and double check everything, but for most departments that is too much work or they regard it as unnecessary.

  • Has anyone ever had a bot on a website answer their question?
  • Kinda. I tried activating my new SIM card through the horrible web interface (oh o2 germany never change) an the interface kept bugging out. After a few tries I tried to find the hotline number through the chatbot and lo and behold the chatbot actually scanned my account and deducted that I was trying to activate my new sim card. After a few questions, the chatbot succeeded with what should be easily possible through the web interface.
