  • Jupiter and Saturn are not brown dwarfs.

    The IAU definition for brown dwarf requires it to be an object of at least 13 Jupiter masses (which is roughly the limit required for deuterium fusion).

    Also being so below the threshold, they do not have enough mass to fuse hydrogen. Their cores are most likely a combination of fluid metallic hydrogen and other denser materials based on our current models.
