Goodbye, Reddit: How the Internet’s Front Page Is Eating Itself
  • I'm still running Sync for Reddit using a patch from Vanced. I don't know why I even bother. That site has gone so far downhill from 10-15 years ago. People used to get flamed for not reading an article or using improper grammar. Comments were, more often than note, well thought out and articulate. Now, the site is a cesspool or memes and idiocracy.

  • You just can't hold down a job when you are homeless. I new a few who had tried, but something always gets in the way. That being said, a lot of missions/churches will let you use their address as a mailing address.

  • Obviously it depends on the church and area, but I rarely experienced people trying to convert me when I was homeless. Most were trying to help the less fortunate and it ends at that. There was a church who would set up for lunch 3-4 days a week with no strings attached. A pastor came and delivered me MREs at like 2am in the morning one time after getting a call from one of his friends. He never once mentioned church. I'm thankful they were able to keep me alive in that dark time in my life.

  • Proton is transitioning towards a non-profit structure | Proton
  • I'm happy to see this announcement. However, just transitioning to a non-profit does not make an organization good. They can still be greedy and take advantage of their user base. That being said, it seems Proton's mission statement resonates with a non-profit type structure. When you are accountable to the shareholders, they become the priority.

  • Updated my Samsung phone and it installed unwanted apps
  • That's like saying Samsung shouldn't allow you to install any apps. If Verizon bought the phone they can put whatever they want on it before they sell it to you. And then when you buy it, you delete or put whatever you want on it.
