Favorite Movies or Tv Shows with amazing card playing scenes?
  • I still enjoy the “Dell’s poker face” from Only fools and horses…

But probably not what you’re aiming for ;)

  • What are your favorite social minority characters in any form of fictional entertainment media, or how should a minority be written better?
  • For me probably Terry Pratchett’s dwarves. Or TBH quite a lot of his characters…

  • Nice bag, where’s it from?

  • Suggestions for a 4/5G router
  • Thanks for the suggestion. I did a bit of digging and it looks like my firewall supports any BSD compatible cellular modem, so might try that.

  • Suggestions for a 4/5G router

I’m having to use a 4g router (from Three in the UK), as the wired internet is rubbish. I’d like suggestions for a 3rd party router 4&5G compatible for future proofing.

It needs to support bridge mode (to avoid having to double NAT) and ideally support IPv6 as three support that as well. I don’t need WiFi.

    Any suggestions welcome & thanks.

  • What's a great but uncommon comedy movie we should watch?
  • I always liked Dr. Strangelove

  • Terry Pratchett: Why does Dodger scratch "Kaspar" in the carriage?
  • I’m not sure, but from a web search this may have some bearing: “Kaspar Hauser of Nuremberg, Germany”.

Just conjecture, as I can find no other references that make sense.

  • What psychopath architects are still designing bathrooms that you have to pull the door open in order to leave?
  • I’m not an expert (at all), but I presume that opening a door into a thoroughfare risks hitting someone with the door but opening into a room only risks a person ready to leave (and approaching the door head on?)

    Just thoughts…

  • Whats the least fun fact you know?
  • 70% of the worlds surface is covered in water. None of that water is fizzy. Therefore the earth is technically flat…

  • Green bin day for me (tomorrow morning), so get up, fry up, watch footie, mow the grass that hasn’t been touched for a month, bit of other gardening to tidy up / fill bin. Curry out with mates for supper.

  • Umm, that’s what a real bear would say…

  • What habits do you have to protect your privacy?
  • Password manager, 2FA where available (these for security more than privacy). Firefox with ublock, noscript and privacy badger for browsing. PiHole for DNS using standard block lists to remove adverts and trackers.

  • Good suggestions for a manual coffee grinder?
  • It might be worth asking over in: Coffee@lemmy.ml
