Similarly, as a child I discovered R2 U2 R2 U2 R2 to swap two F2L edges (RF and RB.) In the rare instance I pair the wrong corner and edge together, this ends up being faster than fixing it.
I'm getting back into cubing after a friend convinced me. Finally starting to learn full PLL --- that's where I am with it right now. Trying to develop a mnemonic system for the longer algs so I don't just forget them.
I did get some god-tier luck yesterday and hit a 20.84 single. Got cross + 1 on a platter, then easy OLL, then H-perm. Four-second PB.
I also picked up a square-1 because why not. I'm still getting the hang of the notation, but it's really, really cool.
