There's a crate for it too: anymap2
Not exactly the same thing but this is still pretty funny. This is code that is technically 100% legal Rust but you should definitely never write such code 😅.
I dislike Vance and Trump as much as the next guy here but come on... this is literally just mudslinging. You think this is gonna convince anyone?
One always lies, the other never tells the truth.
Is it possible to define an ecosystem in such a way that one can predict how it will evolve in stages?
Intuitively, I think this would be a chaotic system, much like the weather. Chaotic systems cannot be predicted over long time scales.
TypeScript for the backend too? Sorry, can't help with that. But I'd say just open source it anyway.
This page has like no information basically.
I don't actually see that many political questions in this comm but maybe that's just me. Looking at the top of all time, I mostly notice this one, which honestly is more like a rant than a question (I dislike Trump as much as the next guy but this is clearly not a neutrally stated/good faith question and just a way for the OP to vent their frustration) and should probably be removed on that basis rather than it being a political question.
Honestly looking further, a lot of the political "questions" in this comm are just rants disguised as questions. I think it would make sense to disallow rants. You could say it's already included under the "all posts must be legitimate questions" part of rule 1 but explicitly calling it out and enforcing it would be nice.
Well there are in fact other options than Lemmy already, like Mbin and Piefed. This is good - more options means users have more choices and they all still interoperate so everyone can choose what they want without being separated.
Yea - when it comes to a security review, it's really the backend that matters the most though.
Obscurity is not security, so you could argue that you should just open source it anyway. Any security holes present are also there right now - the fact that the source code is not available is irrelevant.
But if you insist, it may help if you say what programming language is used.
To save it and save people a click to reddit:
Well in some languages other than English the sun is actually called "Sol".
Ah okay haha. It's important to like the main character as he's in every scene of the whole thing basically.
I will say... it kind of intentionally makes him annoying at the start, which makes for some good development of his character later. But he won't change completely I suppose. It does start slow, but it will really take off if you get about half-way, and I mean really take off. The first half and the second half are markedly different. You have to enjoy the mystery and just the interactions between the characters as a kind of slice-of-life thing in the start of the anime.
It's alright, maybe it just isn't your genre or your thing. Still my personal favourite of all time, but I am a sucker for that kind of story.
I'll probably give season 2 a shot. As far as I gather, it's almost caught up with the manga? I'm kinda considering to just read it but maybe I'll go for the anime if it's close to caught up anyway.
Btw have you watched Steins;Gate? Perhaps now that I've humoured your suggestion, you could humour mine :)
Definitely, not disagreeing with that. I've played plenty of those games too. I just find that "enjoyment per hour" is actually better with shorter, finite games. But I also find myself spending a lot of time playing Civ or Stellaris haha
That's interesting, thanks!
Finished the first season now. It's really good - I especially love the soundtrack and the calm nature of the first half. It sorta reminds me of the first half of Frieren (before Frieren's second half which turns into shonen fight stuff 🙄). The second half is really sad... it feels like everything is going wrong all the time and there's not really a nice resolution. It feels like the characters are struggling a lot but not managing to fix things despite it. It's kinda sad and frustrating.
I'm really a sucker for happy endings so this style doesn't really leave me satisfied. It's not that it ended sadly per se but I wouldn't exactly call it a happy ending either. How would you say the second season compares?
