I don't know anything about Linux and the idea of installing it frightens me. Where do I start?
  • You are not "barely computer literate". Most people have no idea how to put a OS installer on a flash drive and boot from it. If you know how to format your laptop and reinstall Windows, you know how to install Linux. Install any beginner distro (Ubuntu, Linux Mint, etc) and have fun. Google is your friend if you find any issues. There are a lot of resources online to help you.

If you want to play games or use any specific Windows-only software you may have to do some research, but if just for browsing the web you will most probably have a good time. Don't be afraid to try and learn.

  • SN30 Pro+ connection issues
  • Have you tried updating the controller's firmware?

  • Is there any guides on rooting android, specifically tablets
  • If you want to remove bloat, you can use this software. It doesn't require root. Just be careful to not disable important system apps otherwise you can make your tablet unusable and will have to find a way to go to recovery and factory reset.

I used it on a friend's cheap Chinese phone and it removed a lot of stuff. The phone was much better after that, but of course, be extra careful to not remove important stuff.

    Good luck!

  • Palworld reaches an all-time peak higher than cs2
  • The game has potential... if the devs don't drop the ball, fix the copied textures and 3D models from Pokemon, I believe it can be a really good game

  • The AYANEO NEXT LITE (w/HoloISO out of the box) will cost $300
  • The Ryzen 4800U APU is weaker than the Steam Deck, but I'm sure it'll be able to run plenty of old AAA games, indies and emulators

  • [Discussion] What are you're thoughts on a Steamdeck with a PSP Go form factor?
  • I'd rather have better hand grip and ergonomics than small form factor. I used to play on my PSP and DS/3DS all the time, but yeah nowadays the Steam Deck is the best for my hands

  • How to choose a model?
  • I recommend getting the OLED 512GB because it can store plenty of games and it's better in every way over the LCD model.

If your budget is absolutely limited, then the LCD model is also great.

  • Where can I buy Linux merch and also support FOSS?

Clothing, accessories, etc. I remember back then buying hoodies from the Canonical Store, but they are not available anymore.

If there are any, please share web stores where we can buy some FOSS merch and help the community!

What’s the trick to getting stable FPS in OW2?
  • Have you tried lowering the resolution and enabling FSR?

  • Play RuneLite as "Old School RuneScape" on Steam Deck
  • Use Luxtorpeda as a compatibility tool and OSRS will run using RuneLite and track time:

  • How to optimize my Ubuntu for gaming.
  • If you don't have a budget to upgrade to a better laptop anytime soon, I recommend using a low ram distro, like Lubuntu and search for the best driver compatible for your GT 730. I believe this GPU barely supports Vulkan so demanding 3D games will mostly not run properly. You'll have to stick with old AAA or indie games. Also, if using a Ubuntu-based distro, make sure the package nvidia-prime is installed to use your nvidia GPU instead of the Intel HD Graphics which are even worse. Good luck!

  • What Steam achievement are you most proud of?
  • You can easily cheat that achievement by changing the clock of your PC, so not a rare achievement, but for the ones that really wait 5 years, that's impressive commitment

  • Remember when they'd send you these for free?
  • A friend once ordered a box of 50 to share with students from university and they delivered to the other side of the world not even charging shipping!
