  • Out of the loop, what events?

Thanks for the context. Anti woke chuds getting sad about a tongue in cheek tweet to promote queer gamedevs.

As always, freedom of speech != right to attention. Someone blocking you is just as much freedom of speech as you voicing your hatred.

  • Thats the point. Nuclear makes energy in a safe and clean way, but you can't just exclude the waste problem from the discussion or dismiss it as "we'll figure it out" as its so often done in this conversation.

Sure we are reusing some of it nowadays, but we still have tons globally that need to go somewhere

  • I feel with discworld there's so much material, and all of it is mooostly standalone readable (?) that i havent had any issues.

I'd say the rincewind stories are an ok starting point too, but i think the characters are extra whacky if you aren't used to the world. Guards guards is probably good, but i just grabbed men at arms at the book shop on a whim knowing next to nothing about it

  • That's a tough one.

Men at Arms by Terry Pratchett was my first foray into the Diskworld so it's special to me, but also just a great book.

Neuromancer by William Gibson blew me away. It first defined so many things that are now Cyberpunk and SciFi tropes.

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson is probably my favourite discovery in recent years - the whole series was just so much fun.

The Expanse by James S. A. Corey, absolute SciFi banger. Politics, intrigue, war, amazing characters, insane setpieces... cried more than once during my read.

  • Matter of definition for me. Had some sort of fracture in my jaw but it wasn't broken through. Also "fun" anecdote, they told me it wasn't cracked at the hospital and a week later my dad (who i hadn't put down as a contact, they just used an old address instead of the one i provided) tells me i got a letter from the hospital.

Turns out i shouldn't have eaten solid food and gone to a surgeon ASAP. Now my jaw is permanently slightly uncomfortable and pops sometimes.
