Thailand eyes BRICS membership at October summit, begins OECD application
  • Most of the countries that are deciding to join recently are getting absolutely eviscerated by the dollar when it comes to foreign exchange, they all have very weak currencies because the dollar is just so incredibly strong relative to everywhere else.

It's a lot more complicated than just that, but that definitely seems to be a catalyst at the moment

  • What are some things you can/should cheap out on?
  • Which soap? I've been using Dove for everything for the past few years. Apart from the fact that it's really handy for travelling I've never had any issues with using it as both shampoo and normal soap but maybe I'm doing it wrong and I should have dedicated conditioner and shampoo

  • What are your "controversial" opinions that go against popular opinions in the UK?
  • Isn't it a lot to do with how easy it is to start playing? All you need is something ball shaped and a wall or a bit of grass .You don't need to terraform a whole area like golf, for example.

So it's got no barrier to entry which means people of a lower socioeconomic disposition can play it and they are often disproportionately stressed and angry

  • If it were me I'd set up Google Alerts In all the major languages and use Google translate to generate the search keywords. You will get the alerts in your email but you can also output results to RSS, and then you can use an RSS aggregator like Polite Pol to make them into a single feed, which you could then get shown in Telegram or a similar messaging app as individual links

  • Recent Nebula content
  • They're probably just leveraging the good will they have as the plucky underdog. I personally found the app clunky and that the videos loaded really slowly, but I don't blame them for offering a lifetime subscription.

Either that, or it's just price anchoring and they weren't expecting anyone to spend $300, but it made the other options look cheaper

  • How Many Streaming Services Do You Have?
  • I use EPG dot best. They're an EPG provider who give you lots of detailed information about each channel and show/movie and nice clean logos and everything.

You can filter large EPG files from your IPTV provider into much smaller ones that only include the channels you actually watch. The smaller EPG file means that the app uses less RAM on my Nvidia Shield too

It's not free and it's kinda finicky to set up, with a weird workflow, but it works well once that's done

  • I switched it off for a reason!
  • If an app asks me to rate it, or checks what my rating is going to be before sending me to either a feedback form or Google Play, depending on my response, then it instantly gets a 1 star review

  • I think all these other countries only care about the fact that India has a burgeoning middle class and is going to become the next consumption led market. Everyone has too much of their own stuff to deal with at the moment, but they love the idea of huge cohort of new customers over the coming decades, regardless of who's in charge

Not to take away from your post, which is nuanced and interesting. But I think the buck stops at the economics for most

  • How I discovered 4K IPTV (Yes really, the resolution is 2160p).
  • The only way I have found to get reliable IPTV services is to post on local Facebook groups. There is invariably a few middle-aged guys who can't spell properly and who can you "mate" who will know which service works best in your area and be resellers of said service. A few 24-hour trials and you can usually figure out what suits you best.
