  • [How is your day going?] 26 August
  • Still working on saturday.. XD

  • Question: Where is federated content stored?
  • Yup, that is what professional/corporate scrapper do from the very beginning. Fediverse has poor privacy, and it is designet that way. It is better to share only safe content to fediverse for our safety, and share more private things on messaging/chatting apps like matrix or email only to person we trust.

  • I use Debian BTW
  • I love Arch and Hyprland, but when I need to spin up some linux machine ASAP that can be used by normies I will install Linux Mint.

  • Question: Where is federated content stored?
  • Technically, yes. But if you are caught red handed, be ready for the mass ban to your account/instance.

  • Question: Where is federated content stored?
  • On all instances. Each instance has copy of what happened and every action is relayed by community instance (in this case, Beta) to all subscriber of the community.

  • Flatpak integration is still not great
  • Agreed

  • [How is your day going?] 18th of August

  • [How is your day going?] 16th of August
  • Wednesday is always a busy day for me. Work starts from 7 AM and ends at 5 PM. Not a big deal as I can bear with it..
It is 5.10 PM when I am writing this, and I am happy atm because the work finally over. XD Have a nice day, folks!

  • Red Hat stops all upstream and downstream work on desktop Bluetooth, multimedia applications (namely totem, rhythmbox and sound-juicer) and libfprint/fprintd - linux - kbin.social
  • Welp.. Gnome will lost many of their contributor/maintainer.. Well, at least KDE folks is backed by Novell(SUSE) and XFCE is purely maintained by community already. It seems Linux desktop is still safe. lol

  • true comparison
  • Gnome is bloated. It needs seconds just to oprn start menu/app switcher/or something like that on my low end laptop.. :/
It also uses more ram at iddle.

  • XFCE taking the picture
  • Nah, Gnome is already bad on my battered 2017 i3 lenovo laptop.. I am on arch btw.. XD ... so the bloat should be minimal.
Not all people has the resource to buy state of the art laptop..

Is there a more politically conservative part of the fediverse?
  • maybe exploding-heads.com? is that site still around?
I only know that on Lemmyverse, most of conservatives happily stays on reddit given most committed progressives migrated here. Or may be they go to squabblr, its owner says they are welcomed there.
There are many though, on mastodon-verse if you like twitter-esque experience. There are enough users and instances to hold meaningful conversations.

  • XFCE taking the picture
  • XFCE is da best! KDE is second. Gnome is distant last. Lol

  • Removed
Has Lemmy replaced Reddit for you? Also, how does your weekly phone usage look like?
  • Mostly. There are one or two niche subs that doesn't exist here, so I keep using reddit for that. Overall I'm happy with fediverse, both on twitter-like and reddit-like platforms.

  • chroot is still black magic
  • Some custom or git version of application. Once a time I need to use sddm git to fix bug with my hylrland.
