What's a woman?
  • We're talking about both. Gender was traditionally identical to sex and this issue didn't come up much till relatively recently. Outliers, like people born with both sets of organs, were just that. To be consistent with this philosophy, race must also now be done as "whoever identifies as such". After all, it's just as much of a societal construct.

  • Withdrawal is going to make people go mad
  • Either he lies all the time or he tells the truth, can't have both. I'd love to try elimination of the income tax in exchange for tariffs but there's no way it's going to happen despite whatever campaign promises were made.

  • Boys Inspired to See That Someday They Can Grow Up to Be the Most Powerful Sexual Predator in America
  • It is an answer. The legitimate things trump does wrong are drowned in the sea of biased reporting. Even now with the tariff talk. These false stories of companies skipping christmas bonuses and crying wolf. What happens when they really do put a tariff on something they shouldn't. That's going to be a blip and not be remembered. What if it does spur domestic manufacturing of something, won't be covered either. You end up in a situation where people just tune in or tune out based on their bias and end up completely uninformed at both ends.

  • Then we are certainly wired differently. I have no need to keep the "herd" going or to do what others demand beyond the practical. There is probably a collectivist vs individualist argument here too and the voluntary and involuntary aspects of cooperation herein.

  • Costco forced to recall 80,000 lbs of butter – because the label fails to mention it contains milk
  • I saw it reported both ways. The outrage way, where "OMG, the stupid government is wasting food" and at first the recall way, where you must return the butter because it will kill you and there is something wrong with it. There shouldn't be a recall at all, just an announcement that the butter wasn't labeled properly for people allergic to milk products.

  • What's a woman?
  • Yea, you can put down whatever you want on government forms. That's no mystery. Whether people at large accept you as that what you claim is on them. The government isn't an arbiter of reality any more than you are.

  • What's a woman?
  • It doesn't get brought up because they didn't make an issue of it or make demands on everyone else. It's also a surgery based on physical medical need and practicality. No pushy activism was involved.

  • What's a woman?
  • And so what if they do? Nobody is throwing you in jail for selecting the "wrong" box. And if there is some special program you're defrauding.. well.. treating people differently on this in the law isn't part of my philosophy.

  • What's a woman?
  • But this is a biological thing. It's a medical condition. It's not your gender if you were born with both sets of organs. The point of equality was to get rid of laws being selectively applied. By your philosophy, race also works similarly. Someone who is latino is whoever says they're latino.

  • What's a woman?
  • A woman is an adult human female. A man is an adult human male. We may have made up the stereotypical roles for them, but we certainly didn't divine the biology. The question is a challenge against the absurdity of postmodern progressive thought. Philosophically speaking.

  • Republicans break protocol to kill Social Security benefits expansion bill
  • This has always been the case though. I've seen someone retire and they offer you a choice on how to structure your SS and pension, monthly, lump sum, etc. Generally those pensions are going to be much higher than social security anyways. For the few that still get them. i.e. predominantly public sector employees.

  • Republicans break protocol to kill Social Security benefits expansion bill
  • These provisions reduce Social Security benefits in proportion to a beneficiary's pension amount, which impacts individuals who receive pensions from employment not covered by Social Security.

So you get a pension and your SS is reduced by that amount? Isn't that the point of the pension? Big nothing burger.
