I, for one, welcome our new mercantile overlord
Sorry about that. I do include a rape tag on posts where the situation seems clearly non-consensual. I don't generally do that for more ambiguous situations like this one though, where it can be interpreted as just rough sex.
Ah yeah, could be. I'll keep that in mind for future posts. The original PNGs were 11mb each, so I thought I might have to downscale them. Converting to WEBP was pretty effective though, so I didn't bother.
He feels like she is some kind of sister/cousin if I’m remembering correctly.
Even better.
That may in fact be what happens next.
The canary is triggered through inaction, not action. The government would have to compel the target of the subpoena to keep updating the canary on schedule.
Probably a shift from "allow by default" to "deny by default". Instead of just letting anyone create an account and start posting, more sites will become invite-only and/or require manual approval before posts become visible.
Beyond programming tips and writing help, a million conversations reflect people's desires for other kinds of 'usafe' information. Here's what researchers are doing about it.
"Why are you humans so HORNY?"
Yep, you had mentioned that one, was just wondering if there were any others.
It lasted for weeks and I never saw so much hentai.
I'm sad that I missed out on this. Any particular, uh... recommendations from that era?
Thank you, kind stranger
The image is still accessible on their server through that link, so it looks like purging the post doesn't get rid of the image.
After losing their lemmy.fmhy.ml domain name, they're back at lemmy.fmhy.net. @Arisusanchez commented a few days about it in my old thread about them, but I missed it until just now.
An update: - fmhy.ml is gone (https://fmhy.net is now up), due to the ongoing fiasco with mali government taking all their .ml domains back and also Freenom being sued by Meta - As such, lemmy.fmhy.ml is also gone, we are currently exploring ways to refederate (or somehow restart federation entirely...
FMHY is down for now, though hopefully not permanently. They were the only large instance that hadn't defederated us.
Another one down. Looks like their admin isn't actively hostile to us, they're just in a hostile jurisdiction:
>I’m sure this will come as a disappointment to many of you as you have joined this instance specifically because we do not block or defederate with anybody. Unfortunately my hand is forced on this occasion. > >As many of you know this server is hosted in Ireland. It has been brought to my attention that under Irish law: > >Virtual child pornography is illegal in Ireland per the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act of 1998 which includes “any visual representation”.[Irish Statute Book] The country has strict laws when it comes to child abuse material, even if it doesn’t contain any “real children”. > >As you can understand this requires me to defederate and remove the offending material from my server. There are newer admin tools in the works which will allow me to block specific communities instead of whole servers. Once this is in place I will refederate with burggit and block the individual offending communities. > >This will also apply to other servers with offending content but as far as I’m aware burggit is the only one for the moment. > >I still maintain my ideal of not defederating as much as possible but sometimes its out of my hands. > >Thanks to everyone for helping create this vibrant community and for supporting. I am dedicated to make VLemmy the best it can be.
