[Meta] Can the timestamps be fixed for !moviesandtv@lemmy.film?
  • @CeruleanRuin Thanks!

I tested making a post from @realcaseyrollins@narwhal.city, and got confirmation that the issue is resolved, so I'm back to posting on the community now (although work will probably busy today so I won't be posting as much).

  • @kingmongoose7877 I'll do a lil bit of testing from narwhal.city today, it runs #Lotide which I've found to be fairly stable for the most part. Please tell me if the issue pops back up when I post from there again

I'll refrain from posting in the community until this issue is resolved, please let me know once it's fixed.

  • French court won’t block Pornhub in France — for now
  • @LA71 That's a bit of a joke on the French, they're good at being freaky and weird

  • French court won’t block Pornhub in France — for now
  • @LA71 @BrikoX If #Pornhub got banned from #France, the citizens would just leave

  • Wikipedia could shut down in UK after online safety law passes, Government told
  • @fckreddit @yogthos The #UK sounds like an awful place to use modern technology

If I ran a big tech company I'd pull out of the country entirely tbh

  • UK government considers preparing for scenario of unexpected collapse of Russian Federation
  • @Pacifist @TheAnonymouseJoker #Lemmy in general, and lemmy.ml in particular, is known for white-knighting for dictators tho, so this isn't all too unexpected tbh

Although I guess in most cases they wait for the dictator to die first so that people forget how bad he was

  • @jherazob The #Meta situation isn't comparable to the #XMPP situation though

  • How to Kill a Decentralised Network (such as the Fediverse)
  • @jherazob

what the heck makes you think that all the #Fediverse users are just gonna leave for #Meta because federation with it is "annoying"? lol

  • How to Kill a Decentralised Network (such as the Fediverse)
  • @MyMulligan @jherazob I disagree.

I think the key thing is to just make sure that you don't use non #FOSS clients. #GoogleTalk started as a client for #XMPP, people migrated to it, and then #Google dropped support for #XMPP. If so many people didn't use #GoogleTalk, the #XMPP network would have remained unimpeded.

  • Lemmy exceeds million users (maybe more accurately accounts)
  • @fu @GizmoLion @1337tux @DerWilliWonka @TheAngryBad I'm not on board with the selling part tbh, but I like the bot idea, it worked for #Reddit like the guy said

  • Pat Robertson, conservative evangelist and Christian Coalition founder, dies at 93
  • @kamenoko As a #Christian, Jesus is alive (just in Heaven, not on Earth) and yes, He would flip tables over both, most likely.

  • Pat Robertson, conservative evangelist and Christian Coalition founder, dies at 93
  • @const_void Doesn't #CBN peddle the prosperity gospel and other heresies?

It is sad that he died but I'm not going to pretend that a network broadcast a fake gospel is a net positive for #Christianity.

  • realcaseyrollins casey is remote @social.freetalklive.com

i prefer using mastodon on public devices tbh idk if public network infrastructures would wig out if they saw all the instance i connect to lol
