  • This is a thing of beauty! I didn’t know grinders could be such high quality. Threadless and no metal grinding contact is huge.

It hurts me when I see people grinding up herb in those cheap plastic grinders. I’d rather break it up by hand if that’s the only option.

  • That’s rough. I hope you are able to transition into something you enjoy doing. I know several public school teachers and they all report the same thing. I’ve noticed both of those traits have become more prominent in myself in the last 10 years or so as I spend more time with devices than I used to. I would be struggling as a student right now for sure.

  • I think my bed frame will last my whole life (in my 30s now). I got a Thuma bed frame. It was expensive but it’s so solid and easy to assemble and take apart. Maybe the slats will need to be replaced one day. This thing a toe stubbing monster though (legs flare out)!

  • When I was in college the pizza place in the student union building did a loaded baked potato pizza. Slices were like 4cm tall! Russet potato, cheddar, green onions and bacon. It was the same price as the other topped pizza slices and one slice would fill me up for the day. Miss that. Never seen it anywhere else.

  • Neil Gaiman stories. After learning about his abuses and sexual assaults. He actually touches on those themes in some of his stories (Sandman, American Gods). And even wrote empathetically about the victim’s experiences in these stories; which just sickens me more. Putting those stories in the context of what he’s done has ruined them for me. I never swore to love his stories forever but I did really like them, one upon a time.

  • Same! My old laptop couldn’t run the Wilds beta. It’s so nice to have a quiet PC for gaming now playing everything on ultra! I went with a 4070ti super. I’m playing hunting horn for the first time. So much fun!

  • Hey, I appreciate your thorough response to my points! Seems like I came to the right place. Prius is a solid contender. I'll look at these in particular. I've been wondering what happened to those bumpers that used to be on older cars (80s/90s?), just give me a bumper car hahah.

  • I think a full EV may limit my options a bit. I'm unsure if these are totally valid though.

I actually used to drive a tesla fairly often. It was my ex's, who I lived with. We actually did street parking in that place, with no charging at home. Closest charger was 15 mins away. Not a huge PITA honestly - as long as you plan to charge around other errands. But we took a few road trips and there was always so much planning around the next charge, how fast it was, what the interface was (if not a supercharger) - and that's in California!

I was also always paranoid about the battery dying in the middle of nowhere with no way to get it running without a tow to a charger. With a reg/hybrid, one can at least get a can of gas.

I do have charging in my current building's garage, but there are several EVs here already, I don't know/see how busy they are. I may also move soon.

When EVs are commonly found at 500mi ranges, I'll be more interested. Willing to have my mind changed though!

  • This is a great rec, I appreciate the tips and details. Didn't know that about the dealers. I'm always down to take the trip to santa cruz too :D. That sounds like a steal at 17K. I like that it is a bit higher but still compact. Will look into this one more for sure!

  • What car should I buy? @lemm.ee

$10k-$20k used, efficient, reliable and safe (CA, USA)
