The reality of modern tech
  • Protecting FOSS is impossible, there will always be a company that uses your codebase, credits you and includes advertisements to your program.

We need to make using FOSS projects the default and using the corporate options as the backup option.

  • A new trolley era
  • It seems reasonable for the autopilot to turn off just before collission, my point was more in the line of "You won't get a penny from Elon".

People who rely on Full Self Driving or whatever it's called now, should be liable for letting a robot control their cars. And I also think that the company that develops and advertises said robot shouldn't get off scot-free but it's easier to blame the shooter rather than the gun manufacturer.

  • Rootin' tootin' rule
  • Mewdy pardner, keep up the good work

  • Heathcliff without Heathcliff 5/16/2024
  • That damned snail, so annoying moving down the street

  • Can I make it fit, or do I have to just let it go?
  • I think you could mount the iso and manually delete the packages you dont want. Mounting an iso is as easy as

    # mount -o loop /path/to/iso /path/to/mountpoint

You can also chroot into it while it is mounted: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Chroot

Disclaimer, I am not sure if deleting files inside the iso makes it weight less.

  • Timer rule
  • Adding a speedrunner timer to their game that takes into account load times

  • A new trolley era
  • The autopilot will turn off just before hitting them to make you liable anyway

  • hate it when this happens
  • Amen 🙏🙏

  • Trans rule
  • So you are telling me the cat noises are just the TLS handshake to verify the connection?

  • Firefox community things [HELP]
  • Not many languages let you do advanced math with their base, usually libraries do the heavy lifting and in numpy's case it isn't even written in python.

  • Sony cancelled the PSN account linking requirement for Helldivers 2
  • Nowadays a console is just a locked down, less expensive pc. I think buying the components of a ps5 and assembling the pc is more expensive than just buying a console and liberating it, which is what I would do if I was to ever buy one.

  • Which are the most fucked up books you've read?
  • I thought it was like a coping mechanism to make him more adjusted. Sometimes when he doesn't describe brands or simply there aren't any designer products, he loses his mind very quickly.

It could also be about corporate behavior but I haven't had the chance to meet anyone that entrenched.

  • Added Bugs to Keep my job
  • French dead link?

  • *Boots Linux*
  • Then a critical bug is added by doof with his machine to alter code and everyone stops using it and deletes all archival evidence.

  • Which are the most fucked up books you've read?
  • Gore

For me it was the scene wher Pat like grabs the vocal cords of one of the women after drilling a hole through the mouth and then rips them out of the mouth.

At first I thought the book was really boring with all of the brands and clothes descriptions that took half of the chapters. After that the senseless killings and brutality got to me in the end.

  • Which are the most fucked up books you've read?
  • I entered this post to say exactly that.

There comes a point in the book when the constant one-upping the last scene just makes me need two or more sessions to get through the chapter. The last "Girls" chapters are specially gruelling.

  • Why are many men growing beards again ?
  • It's been foretold that after a year without touching grass you can harness one-handed vim

  • Green or red flag?
  • I have a video about retro games at the top of my RSS youtube feed, does that count?
