There is probably a lot of creative accounting happening with a lot of those types of numbers. Any Disney + ad that has something to do with the Acolyte probably gets counted in that total. Countless examples of movies and shows with way smaller budgets that end up looking a lot better than most of the recent Disney slop.
I get the reasoning but anything like that would just be abused to enshittify things further with unblockable ads and enforced DRM on everything. At least with the open standards there is the ability to adblock and manipulate certain annoyances at a browser level
Yea luckily you don't have to risk anything on me because we're just discussing an opinion piece here
I understand he would have that ability I just don't think he'd actually do it. I'm sure with a conservative supreme court he could do a lot of horrible shit (they're managing to do that without a republican president already). I just don't think starting a war with Mexico would be one of those things.
It's not a defence of Trump just analysis of reality. He said before his first term that he was going to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it and has done neither.
Also some people are clearly not reading the article he talks about using special forces or drones against cartels. Again I dont think hed do that either but that's not a land grab invasion that's comparable to Russia in Ukraine it's something US has already done in places in the middle east that they aren't directly at war with. They've done that sort of shit under Democratic leaders. I don't think either is a good idea but I think people losing shit over everything Trump says just adds to the polarization and is counter productive but really good for the media.
Yea except that one of those things has actually happened while the other one is Trump just pandering to xenophobes with no indention of actually doing shit.
It's almost like generational distinction is meaningless and it's actually about class.
It absolutely is enshittification, they tiered the service taking away features from the lowest plan and hiked the prices.
But they make stonk lines go up so wall street can buy caviar for their kids.
People will be deceived into opting in via some UI anti pattern like they do with the online user accounts and onedrive now.
Will it be a 3rd person action game with 2 hours of cutscenes and quick time events?
The biggest disappointment in the image generation capabilities was the realisation that there is no object permanence there in terms of components making up an image so for any specificity you're just playing whackamole with iterations that introduce other undesirable shit no matter how specific you make your prompts.
They are also now heavily nerfing the models to avoid lawsuits by just ignoring anything relating to specific styles that may be considered trademarks, problem is those are often industry jargon so now you're having to craft more convoluted prompts and get more mid results.
Until the show you want to watch gets removed because they don't want to pay the licensing fee for it anymore.
The original content is often very mid.
Eh it's not a complete shit show but it's a stretch that any of it delivered what was promised.
The different life paths were laughably shallow. Quests / writing and the whole vibe of the game are pretty cheesy compared to the witcher series.
It was trying to be too much like GTA for all the wrong reasons I would have preferred a smaller more fleshed out world with more explorable interiors.
There were bad decisions made during development that could not be fixed with a small expansion.
The movie became a culture war wedge issue, you just couldn't have an intelligent discourse about it in movie critic terms.
Because while still a bit shallow compared to previous entries, Skyrim had decades of TES lore to lean on so it's just a much more interesting world.
Yea so they got their freedom and made a Halo clone MMO.
A society that gaslights itself with the lie of being based on meritocracy requires them to engage in these mental gymnastics.
Could not really understand the hype for it, having to do the same kind of line puzzle over and over just felt stale.
Thank you, I've used your app for many years excited to continue to use it for Lemmy
