It's right in the name, MAGIC

Honestly now I just want to put a normal, numbered d20 into a magic 8-ball and use that
The game's size on PC is 139.84 GB. It's 100.19 GB for the Standard Edition and 117.07 GB for the Premium Edition on consoles, which also comes with a digital artbook and soundtrack, skin pack, and the Shattered Space Story Expansion (when it becomes available).
Preload for Steam users will start on August 30 and require 125 GB of free space
Such a jam with great guest voices. I unironically love this movie and soundtrack, but this song is especially good
This post already has a lot of comments, but as a relatively new Lemmy user, I also want to add that I agree against defederation except as a last resort. However, that said, I do find most of these hexbear posts and users very annoying.
I consider myself extremely left-leaning, but I’m also not someone who enjoys engaging in political discussion online. One day recently, my Lemmy feed was suddenly inundated with these “chapo” posts (I don’t even know what a chapo is) and the attitude of the posts and comments is very disheartening. They are obviously aggressive and angry, and while I don’t like homophobes, transphobes, xenophobes, and so on, I also don’t want every other post on my feed to be a hate post. Even hating the bad guys gets old really fast. I get it. I was a hater when I was younger too, but I can’t take two steps online today without stumbling into rage or hatred.
A couple weeks ago when I joined Lemmy, it was still feeling cozy enough and positive enough for the most part that it felt like a little safe haven. I started telling all my friends how great it was (as long as you don’t mind porn or are willing to filter out NSFW) and I was excited to post and comment to contribute to the content. But all of a sudden one day these hexbear posts and users started popping up and now I’m embarrassed that I even recommended this place.
I generally agree with their messages when they are standing up for the rights of others and talking about tearing down corrupted establishments, but the sarcasm is so dense and dripping with hatred that it’s almost impossible to tell what they’re talking about or advocating for, so I absolutely do not want to get involved with their discussions.
Anyway, all I’m saying is even though the content is not what I want to see and not what I think is healthy for this sort of site, defederating is serious and breaks one of the best parts of what Lemmy has to offer. We should let the instance moderate itself for a while, even if it means putting up with some noise while things calm down. Letting users filter entire instances will be a fantastic feature when/if it arrives, but for now I’m fine just ignoring the posts or blocking the communities if they are really bothering me
I don’t exactly love these kinds of top down, turn based, save scum games, but the D&D 5e mechanics pulled me in. I will say the game is quite fun even as someone who gets burned out quickly on this style. I’ve played about 20 hours so far and there have been plenty of bugs and crashes, but I can definitely say I’m enjoying it
Haha, I totally get it. I had the same experience with Cassette Beasts. Like I love the mechanics and music and a lot of the monster designs I’ve seen, but after 5 hours I was done with it. Not sure why considering all my friends think it’s the best thing ever.
Infinite Fusion is another one they all love, but I couldn’t really get into. I loved Insurgence when I played it like 8 years ago. Radical Red was very enjoyable too but I did a lot of save scumming lol
Yeah most people I talk to about Pokémon these days just dismiss the franchise as crap and bring up things like Cassette Beasts instead. I’ll always be a Pokémon lover but I am a little bummed out by the state of things sometimes.
Check out Monster Sanctuary if you need another fresh monster taming game. Probably my favorite non-Pokémon monster game of all time
I don’t have a great solution for you, but here’s two ways I’ve done it. First one is just using google calendar. As long as the organizer has everyone’s email, you just send out a meeting invite and they can set up their own reminders. I personally don’t like this way, but it works for others. Works best when you always play on a particular cadence so people can look at their calendar and be reminded that they are busy those days.
The way I do it today is a simple “schedule” channel in our discord server where I post the next session’s date. Each player is tagged with a role for the game they’ve in so I post “@group our next game is 8/10 at 9pm. React 👍 if you will be there” and then everyone uses reactions to say if they are good with that date or not. We play basically bi-weekly but not always, so it’s nice to have a channel that clearly states the next session. Sometimes we use that channel to say things like “oh that day doesn’t work for me can we do xyz instead” or that sort of thing.
You’re not alone. I wasn’t expecting anything new, but I wasnt blown away by what I saw. I’m pretty excited for the SV DLC, but the way they are revealing info about it is killing my hype. I don’t know why, but the way they are dragging their feet has me caring less and less each trailer. Like there were some new forms or evos in this trailer, but I didn’t feel excited.
I can’t stress enough how little I care about Cafe Remix, but every Pokémon announcement has to spend 5 minutes telling me about the new visitors or outfits or whatever. I assume people must be playing this game or they wouldn’t be leaning so hard into it, but I really dont care at all.
I was into PoGo at launch but I’ve really grown to resent it and Niantic as a company so I don’t use any of their apps
I am a bit interested in Detective Pikachu because I loved the movie even though I never played the first one, but it’s not something I’m very hyped about. I may not even get it, but it does seem fun.
I would love to see another Legends game announced or something to actually get me excited. The same Treasure of Area Zero trailer 10 times with a couple new screenshots added each time is not doing it for me. I didn’t even share the video with my friends and talk about the announcements. I’m basically the only one still interested in giving Pokémon a shot and even I’m just so bummed with what they’re showing.
I will say that some of the anime stuff they showed looked kinda cool, but it’s probably not something I’ll actually watch at this point
I’m glad it’s not just me. Like some are decently obvious and fairly funny. Some are tongue-in-cheek and some are like anti-jokes but lots of them just don’t register as any amount of funny to me. I’m 35 years old and I have no trouble with humor from people young and old. I consider myself to have a very good sense of humor, but Far Side comics are just weird sometimes. Like I swear the author is “it was funnier in my head” personified
The best feeling is knowing that your players had fun and want to play more. Glad you are all having fun. LMoP is great for new players and DMs alike
Been looking forward to this, but this drip feed of info is so tiring. I feel like I’ve seen this trailer like 3 times now with tiny bits added each time. Not a huge fan of that rival’s character design, but some of the Indigo Disc characters looked cool.
First one I saw was the YouTube algo showing me the Lanky Kong vid a few months back, but yeah, he has a unique, slightly dark sense of humor. The RPG one had me rolling though. An absolute gem in my book. Thanks for sharing this one. I hadn’t seen it
Love this guy’s videos. They are hilarious. You definitely need to watch the RPG series if you like this one. Other honorable mentions are the Curious George one and the Lanky Kong one
Adventure awaits! Huzzah!
I had to block the whole !random@kbin.social community because it was so out of hand. I was blocking the users and reporting the posts, but there were just too many. I can always unblock the community later after the mods clean things up.
Not sure what kinds of tools Lemmy mods have to prevent this sort of thing because it seems really obnoxious for users of all federated instances and also for the mods themselves to keep up with it
True. It also won’t help against malicious spam bots, but it helped me get rid of all the repost/rehost bots I was seeing when I first joined
I think there is a setting on your account to hide bot posts. I was initially blocking all the bots until I found that setting and now I don’t see them at all
Yeah it gives you and your opponent 6 random Pokémon each, but the moves and abilities are pulled from a small list of potential “competitive” move sets for that Pokémon. Then the levels of Pokémon are adjusted so that stronger Pokémon are a slightly lower level to balance things out.
It’s very fun to sit down and be in a battle within 10 seconds, but it can take a little bit of practice to get used to quickly reviewing your available moves for your whole team.
You can even play without even making an account and then you can create the account later if you want to save your progress
That’s awesome! Great to hear
Oh cool. Kinda surprised it’s not a more common idea. But I’ve been thinking it probably wouldn’t be too hard to make your own if you have a 3D printer and know how to use it (I don’t and I don’t)
Would be a really fun thing to bring to D&D night
