  • I would honestly recommend sports anime like Haikyuu or Prince of Tennis for this kind of thing. Sports anime always lean really hard into the mental game and you’ll have whole scenes playing out in freeze frame or slow-mo while characters painstakingly walk through their plans. I’m a sucker for that kind of thing

  • The Anime That Combines Noir Detectives With Mecha Is Unlike Anything Else
  • Me: “Is this Big O?”

    It is.

I always loved the mystery that this show managed to capture when I was a kid. Especially catching an episode here or there on cable TV. It often meant missing key plot points or not understanding how everything fit together. Watched it through as an adult and I still really like it. I won’t spoil the ending, but it’s one of the most ridiculous things I’ve seen. Not that it’s over the top, but the absurdity of it is something I still reference to this day.

Also the phone ringing to tell you the name of the next episode is burned into my brain

  • Modder claims Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection used their work without permission
  • Sorry. Didn’t mean to come off too strong but I’m just not catching what you were getting at. Was hoping for an explanation, not a debate. Now I’m somehow lying to myself in your eyes so I’m even more confused. Maybe you’re trolling or joking? But I guess I just won’t worry about it

  • Modder claims Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection used their work without permission
  • “Be real” how? I’m legit confused what point you are making. “Using someone’s work for free” doesn’t mean the same as “taking someone’s work and selling it as your own.” When you buy a shirt, you can put your own art on it, but if the shirt company uses your design without credit or consent to sell more shirts, that’s a bit sketchy, no?

I’m gonna “be real” with you, it doesn’t sound like you support modding at all

  • What are some good PSP games?
  • I’ve got to recommend Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. One of the most legendary games in the series for its sheer amount of content. It might feel a bit dated if you’ve played World or Rise, but still good

  • Mr Beast is an evil guy that show how capitalisim can turn poor people into clowns to entertain rich people.
  • Well the returns he gets are the views on his videos. People love to watch people fight to survive. So he pits them against each other in order to draw eyes (and therefore advertisers) while positioning himself as a “humanitarian” making “donations” out of the goodness of his heart. Obviously it’s working because his wealth is growing, not shrinking. That’s part of what I think makes it “evil” in OP’s eyes. If you’re profiting off of it, is it really charitable?

Edit: Oh wait, I can’t read. I see what you are saying. Disregard the above. I think you and I agree there. I don’t think it would be easy for him to just give all his money away for free because then it would be gone and people would still be poor

I’m just trying to play devil’s advocate

  • Mr Beast is an evil guy that show how capitalisim can turn poor people into clowns to entertain rich people.
  • A fair point, but I think OP means that this guy already has the means to make a difference but chooses to dangle it in front of needy people and make them dance for it rather than tackle poverty problems from a different angle

Not sure what OP would do with this guy’s wealth, but I’m sure there isnt a magic wand Mr Beast could wave to solve poverty even if he wanted to

  • Mr Beast is an evil guy that show how capitalisim can turn poor people into clowns to entertain rich people.
  • True, but they agree to do it because they need money. It’s like Squid Game but less extreme (I actually never saw squid game so maybe that’s a bad analogy). The system has failed these people (presumably) and he exploits their need for money in order to make himself look good and raise awareness of his brand so he can make more money too. At least I assume that’s OP’s point

  • Celebrate Pokémon Day with a Special Tera Raid Battle Event! (Scarlet/Violet)
  • It’s just a special event. No different than going to a location to get a code or a distributed copy back in the day. Only difference is now you can do it online. They’ve been doing this sort of thing for nearly 20 years now. Granted, it’s a pain to try and schedule playing the game to get these mons, but they’re not necessary in any way. They’re not even mythical Pokémon that you need to complete your dex

Reading bedtime stories about vegetables to children should be considered child abuse
  • Ah, I see. I’ve noticed several posts in this community recently that were similar, so I assume you’re just piling on to prove that the mods aren’t keeping up? It’s not offensive, at least, so I wouldn’t bother to report it, but I was just really confused lol. Now I understand that you were just shitposting to prove a point

  • Did you ever buy that toy you wanted as a kid but didn't get?
  • If you really want to play games on the classic devices, consider checking out IPS screen mods that add a backlight to most models of gameboy. I’ve also seen rechargeable USB-C battery packs mods people install

  • Nintendo Cracking Down on Unlicensed Tournaments

Nintendo just released these guidelines around running a “community” tournament. In other words, an unlicensed tournament. Limiting the player cap to 200 (300 for online), no profit allowed, entry fees must be under $15 USD, must use Nintendo online servers (no Slippi), and some other stuff.

Not sure which major tournaments from this last year had a license and which didn’t, but I remember the Smash World Tour fiasco and Panda’s implosion. I know Hbox said he’s going to try to keep running Coinbox until Nintendo themselves tells him to stop in writing, but I wonder how this will affect other big TOs. How many of them are still trying to sneak under the radar unlicensed?

Honestly, it’s BS how Nintendo treats their competitive communities

Advice on EV spreads for Tera Raid pokemon

I’m messing around with 6 star Tera raids in Violet and I’m wondering what the best EV spreads are for raiders. I know for most attackers you commonly want 252 sp/atk and 252 speed, but is it worth it to focus more on bulk than speed for the raids? Speed is definitely still a factor, but I’m curious what people think. I’ve been doing 252 sp/atk and 252 HP with 4 sp/def but I’m not even sure if that’s the best way to do it. Like maybe splitting more into sp/def is better than HP.

I’ve never been one to calculate damage and such, so I’m kinda looking for advice on where HP is better or worse than defenses. Or if abandoning speed on raiders is even a good idea. It’s probably case by case depending on the raider and the raid, but I’m looking for generalizations.

Specifically, I’m looking to EV train the 7 star mons that I’ve captured and I’m trying to decide if I just do the normal attack and speed route or not. Any advice or opinions are appreciated.
