lemmy world is hosted in Finland. the owner, ruud, is in the Netherlands
what I'm trying to say is it doesn't embed, it'll show up as a link. unlike a raw upload which can be played in most apps like infinity and voyager
I agree, it should be global by default and changeable per account
don't upload with streamable, barely works on any client
seems like a fire hazard no?
downvoted by the microsoft bots tbh, windows defender will enable itself whenever it feels like it
you'll be fine when using a VPN, just make sure it doesn't leak. in qbittorent you can assign the network interface directly to the VPN.
or get a seedbox
Jellyfin's sync play is not stable at all in my experience. very much not recommended for non technical people.
Ever since I've switched to the app from the playstore I've found that I'd accidentally select posts and whatever on the screen when scrolling. I haven't found this issue with other apps I also use like infinity for Lemmy and Sync. Is there a way for me to adjust the sensitivity? I'm loving the app otherwise.
yep I'm having the same issue, it's like the comment tree got interveted
learn to sail, you're only truly free on the 7 seas
can anyone confirm this tho? havent found anything out of the ordinary with the only 2 releases on 1337x (.to that is)
normal? not at all. Imagine if youtube went down every week, and they have way more overhead than steam
so high quality that they go down for maintenance every Tuesday..
using a free VoIP number isn't an option cause the moment you remove it discord with boot you off again, and keeping it is a huge security risk.
if you're a new discord account it's (in my experience) not possible to go without a verified phone number, their system is too sensitive
Is a video player already on its way? its the only thing that's keeping me from switching.
I don't get it tho, if a in your eyes good person wrote Lemmy what differences does it make? are the current devs pushing their agenda in the code or whatever? it's literally all open source
(network wise) it isn't about number of active torrents but the amount of active connections you have in total, which is very dependent on your router, isp, vpn. but usually if they aren't shit, and especially on a private tracker you'll run into other bottlenecks like bandwidth, io, or whatever
is this a public server? would you be at risk of DDoS attacks?
You can use https://github.com/victornpb/undiscord to mass delete either your entire account/a server/a channel's messages you've send.
I've send an email to Discord regarding this problem and they gave me this answer
>We try to balance the interests other users have in a conversation, as well as the ability for us to provide the service as a whole. Discord is a communications service and its users have a legitimate interest in having access to content sent to them. Consistent with GDPR, Discord balances the privacy interests of the user against the interests other users have in a conversation and the ability for us to provide the service as a whole. Because of how Discord works, content is sent to other users, and those users rely on having access to that content. If a given text channel were suddenly missing important context, it would be confusing to other users or possibly mislead those users about what happened in that conversation.

>Your Data Package should help you identify any messages, images, or files that you would like deleted in spaces that you currently cannot access. If you provide us with a list of the Message IDs and the corresponding channel IDs that contain personal information, we will gladly work to delete the messages you identify.
Who's going to be the first to send them about a million message IDs?
