A very confusing graph posted by the GovBC account
  • I (somehow) figured it out. Picture it as 3 separate pie charts stacked on top of each other. Or 57% as the base amount and each subsequent area is the increase on the previous amount.

    2017 = 57% 2024 = 20% 2027 = 23%

  • Guys, it looks like nvidia has another faithful fan...
  • I switched from a GTX 1080 to an Arc A770 for this exact reason. I was sick of putting up with the bullshit NVIDIA drivers. I am much happier with the Intel card, with the exception of it not having VR support.

  • Google’s use of student data could effectively ban Chromebooks from Denmark schools
  • Most public schools wouldn't have the budget to allocate a staff member to create and maintain such a distro. It would also take quite some time to flash to all of the devices.

    The management tools built into chromeOS are also mature and very compelling to schools. Most schools don't see the value of reinventing the wheel when a mostly ok solution that takes no extra effort is already available.

  • Control - the first game to get me to turn on cheats in decades
  • Control pushed me to turn on the one hit kill cheat. After hitting a certain point in the game, it seemed as though enemies would spawn more frequently in areas already visited. I noticed it most in the research sector. Some of the random encounters of hiss dragged on far too long to be fun.

    With a map that is easy to get lost in and (side) missions which require you to visit or find several locations all around the map, the random encounters got quite tedious. The random encounters seemed to become less frequent again close to the end of the base game.

  • I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."
  • Probably not. Although I can't buy a Steam Deck in my country, Linux is my daily driver on my gaming PC. In my experience, buying games on steam is genuinely much much easier than piracy on Linux. Even just trying to run Windows games purchased elsewhere (such as GOG) to run in wine is much more difficult than steam. There are no other game stores that are anywhere near as good on Linux.
