depends on what you mean by "fixing", I guess. I just resorted to not using Google at all, and use uBlacklist to filter out garbage websites from my search results.
can you set a custom URL, which is required to do what the article is talking about, or do you just pick from the predefined list of search engines?
edit: just checked and nope, you can only pick from Google, Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Ecosia.
Custom search engines are limited to PC browsers only. Unfortunately, the mobile versions of these browsers will not let you set up a custom search, so you're stuck tapping on the Web view in all your mobile search queries.

I'm well aware that it's available to install on all phones, but I'm also fairly sure that other OEMs do use it as the default dialer, too. I saw it preinstalled on one of my mom's phones, either her current midrange Samsung, or her previous Xiaomi.

But the European Parliament’s position removes indiscriminate chat control and allows only for a targeted surveillance of specific individuals and groups reasonably suspicious of being linked to child sexual abuse material, with a judicial warrant. End-to-end encrypted messengers are exempted. Instead, internet services will have to design their services more securely and thus effectively prevent the sexual exploitation of children.
