[Discussion] Do you still use your Steam Deck much?
  • What?? I've been waiting/wishing for a controller with the exact layout as the deck! I can't play rocket league on anything else anymore because i muscle memoried my air rolls to the rear paddle buttons. Whoops

  • Massive issues with sleep and desperate for a solution.
  • Pregabalin actually has the opposite effect on me, it wakes me up so I take it in the morning. It also gives me some pretty bad withdrawals if I miss a dose by more than 24hrs. I'm only on 400mg and it's one of the few drugs I've been on that actually help with my depression, so not bashing it, just sharing my experience. :)

eta: it's been a long time since I've tried taking it at night, I'm going to try it again and report back. Maybe I've been missing out on a cure to my whack ass sleep this whole time

update: nah it actually didn't make much of a difference for better or worse. I'm glad it helps for some people though!

  • Lemmy Babies of the Rexodus - it's been 9 months, how has Lemmy changed you?
  • I love watching rust videos, never played and don't think I have the right mentality to enjoy it, but it looks like such a cool game.

.. or are you talking about the language?

I love watching rust videos, never tried it but can't wait to use it in a project. It looks like such a cool language.

  • I've seen some really good arguments here, with both sides being respectful and explaining their perspective and concluding that they understand each other but just don't agree. It's pretty refreshing. If you don't like that kind of thing you're just stupid and wrong.

  • Who was your first?
  • Give tailscale a try! I use zerotier (because I found it first) which is very similar but I think tailscale is slightly easier. I've had trouble getting openvpn working when i was just getting started as well, and actually find zt/tailscale to better suit my needs in general - I just want computer x and computer y to always be able to reach each other.

  • Who was your first?
  • I think Puppy or Damn Small Linux, maybe knoppix, i was on dial up at the time. Then I found that I could request a free Ubuntu install disk and the speed and cleanliness and compiz effects blew my mind. 04 or 06, can't remember which. From there I think it was xubuntu, mint, arch, arch nvme died and I needed an os immediately so manjaro, got sick of manjaro and garuda sounded neat so i tried it and that's where I am now on my main. Made a mess toying with wayland and am ready to reinstall, probably back to arch or try out nixos

edit: reading through all these comments is bringing back so many memories of other distros I played with back then.

  • Overused phrases that irk me for no reason

Is anyone else nauseated when they read "correlation doesn't equal causation"? Similarly "play stupid games win stupid prizes."

Some people started saying it not knowing what it was, and they'll continue saying it forever, just because.
