The Conservative Party accepted £225,000 in donations from firms and individuals with financial interests in oil and gas during the first week of the general election campaign, DeSmog and Democracy for Sale can reveal. Rishi Sunak’s party was given £575,000 from 30 May, when Parliament was dissolve...
The offer was always about capacity rather than speed, something which is clearly desperately needed.
Trains could be 20% over capacity for standing and seated passengers by the time HS2 is finished

If it's not steel on steel it's not a tram.
At least at one major auto maker, environmental and serious health concerns are outweighing its aesthetic appeal.
Are they going to stop making cars with huge front hoods which are hugely dangerous to pedestrians? Or stop marketing their cars as if they're meant to be driven dangerously?
The findings about Reform’s funding come as the UN General Secretary calls for a fossil fuel advertising ban to “directly confront those in the fossil fuel industry who have shown relentless zeal for obstructing progress.”
Are these people all paying the $50,000 fine for selling to early?

The whole premise was that they're in danger and need to get to Canada to be safe (the bad guys don't have passports I guess 🤷), but have to wait just before they cross the border for everyone to show up seemingly for no reason.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law directed billions toward public transit in New York, but the state is choosing to spend billions more on highways.
Who are you referencing in this comment? Because the people that come to mind for me are Faiza Shaheen, who was deselected for, from what I can tell, liking some tweets that were critical of Israel, and Luke Akehurst, who has been selected while actually being antisemetic (but pro Israel so it's fine I guess)
Crank? Isn't this pretty standard for the tories at this point? They've pedalled conspiracy theories before.

In the US, but worldwide car companies push consumers towards larger vehicles because they are more profitable.
👏 Good job. Can you tell me what else is in the picture?
👍 Well done. But we were talking about the cars in the picture.
People would find some way to complain no matter what cars were chosen for the comparison, but the fact is cars have been getting bigger on average.
Better road design and just having fewer cars would do a lot more than sensors.
As a brit I don't see this being enforced in the UK. The gov would be too scared that trump or an ally would come to power and we can't risk effecting the special welationship 👉👈
Car companies want you to buy these larger, more profitable cars. They advertise them much more heavily and push you away from anything smaller.
The video app, owned by a Chinese company, said it would let federal officials pick its U.S. operation’s board of directors, would give the government veto power over each new hire and would pay an American company that contracts with the Defense Department to monitor its source code, according to a copy of the company’s proposal. It even offered to give federal officials a kill switch that would shut the app down in the United States if they felt it remained a threat.

Half of all new cars are now SUVs, making them a major cause of the intensifying climate crisis, say experts
IMO if you're riding a bike, even if it has pedal assist, you're not lazy.
But even if that is the case, what's wrong with that? Is it not better to have these "lazy" people on ebikes than in cars?

Car journeys up while bus and bicycle journeys down shows UK travelling in wrong direction, says IPPR Today’s statistics from the Department for Transport reveal that:...
Every area of the West Midlands exceeds WHO guidelines on clean air but meeting targets would have £3.2bn economic benefit in reduced health burden
Not sure why it was out on this day, but this tram is used to clear snow from the tram tracks in Zurich.
