Looking for a knife that flips open like a Milwaukee Fastback for under $100
  • you can do the same using any knife with a "button lock".

most popular knife of the last couple of years has a button lock variation and it's less than a $100 https://www.knivesandtools.com/en/pt/-civivi-elementum-button-lock-c2103d-stonewashed-brown-micarta-pocket-knife.htm

  • if it protected the head and shinbones too, it would be a perfect overall for a passive and peaceful protestor.

it's impractical, fashionable, colorful and would be useful when the police or the "farRight" militia decides to handle you to protect you from your right to protest

  • that's the army, not the police.

yes, they became an awkward part of the daily life in cities since the bataclan attack. see Vigipirate. But they are not particularly guarding synagogues. You can see them in front of churches or in train stations or touristic and popular places too.

if you needed to add "leftist" to your name, i suppose you're familiar with The Society of the Spectacle. They are not there to protect you, they're there to make you feel protected (worse, to make you feel like you need constant protection!)

    surreal war

    title is the prompt :/

when i heard a journalist from Jerusalem describe the attack of saturday night as "surreal", i thought "surreal" was a lazy choice to describe an almost war. Then i wondered what a surreal war would look like.

if you're young and/or unfamiliar with the artistic movement "surrealism", my thoughts may sound misplaced. Rewind a hundred years in that case

this year France became the 2nd biggest arm seller, after U.S. 👏👏👏 Some people make shameless amounts of money from this stupid appetite for hate and destruction

splinters, he wrote, splinters, he didn't say splinters, he wrote it

    splinters then

    but this wasn't subtle enough
