⅐ = 0.1̅4̅2̅8̅5̅7̅
The above is 42857 * 7, but you also get interesting numbers for other subsets:
7 * 7 = 49
57 * 7 = 399
857 * 7 = 5999
2857 * 7 = 19999
42857 * 7 = 299999
142857 * 7 = 999999
Related to cyclic numbers:
142857 * 1 = 142857
142857 * 2 = 285714
142857 * 3 = 428571
142857 * 4 = 571428
142857 * 5 = 714285
142857 * 6 = 857142
142857 * 7 = 999999
Yeah, his age is a little weird. From Wikipedia:
In the very early days of the strip, Charlie Brown was explicitly identified as being four years old; he would age very slowly over the next several years, being old enough to attend elementary school by the 1960s
Schulz probably did that because you get a lot more material if they can go to school and play baseball and whatnot. Also even in the 1950's, kind of weird to have 4 year olds running around without any adults in sight
Yeah, he's really been leaning into that the last few comics. Hopefully he's not going through some shit. Reminds me of Dan Harmon basically writing his bitterness about his failing marriage and then divorce into Rick & Morty early on.
First appearance of the SMBC god in the bonus panel. Though I guess he added the bonus panels for these early strips later on, so probably not the first one he drew.
Think it's actually this kid:
Reminds me of superdickery.com, which looks to be gone now. Fortunately, the wayback machine has a copy:

Lots of examples of Superman just being a dick to people for no seemingly good reason

Halloween parties, holiday shopping, and smashing pumpkins in Edina.
Anybody do any trick or treating? It was pretty cold and wet
Neither rain nor snow stopped Minnesotans of all ages from living Halloween to the fullest. MPR News freelance photographer Erica Dischino went to northern Minnesota and captured those moments.
If you're interested in seeing more Peanuts, join us at !peanuts@midwest.social. I'm currently posting all ~50 years (!) of daily strips starting from the beginning, but general posts about Peanuts are welcome too
Some background on this comic (it evolved from the sketch on the right):
Yeah, that seems pretty doable. If I run out, maybe I'll just start posting pictures of delicious peanuts
I could see this in Cyanide & Happiness since they don't mind tasteless jokes, but yeah I doubt Zach would do another one like this nowadays. Kind of interesting though, given that this was written 3 years after Columbine, which probably had more media coverage than any subsequent shooting. It seems like early SMBC was still leaning more towards C&H-style humor than XKCD-style humor.
That sounds like a terrible fire alarm system. You shouldn't feel bad because that was bound to happen.
I do now, just came across this community. You might want to advertise it on !newcommunities@lemmy.world if you haven't already
I think so. Looks like it's the only reference ever in the comics, which is good enough for me
