Entropy balance and time travel in the MCU
  • I don't know.

  • Entropy balance and time travel in the MCU

(need to know the concept of entropy and homeostasis, and the previous principles of MCU)

When you travel forward in time - in the sense of changing the present as if the configuration of planets, people, the state of knowledge, memory is as in the future (taking information from an alternative line that has already developed to this point in the future), and only keep yourself unchanged - then the state of the amount of information cannot change, so it will be a state containing an anomaly, because entropy must proceed at its own pace, it can't be jumped, delayed or accelerated, when you increase entropy, then with the help of cosmological force, there will be an equalization of the state of the amount of information, so either something will spontaneously decay ("increase" entropy, and actually return to the level of entropy from before the anomaly), or spontaneously appear (as an aside, it can sometimes look like some traveler from an alternative timeline appeared in our line). so you will be the anomaly when you are "in the future", so something will spontaneously arise, because in the state in the future the amount of information is less, and yet there is still the present, so there must come from somewhere (a cosmological force, but nevertheless based on the principles of physics, quantum spontaneity) some portion of information to be as much as there must be in the present.

When you "go back in time," that is, modify the present so that it is in a state from the past, but keeping yourself ("time traveler") from the present, in turn, something must spontaneously begin to disappear (including perhaps yourself), because in the present the amount of information is less, and this must even out. In practice, a local "reversal in time" can occur without loss, at the expense of global entropy - locally, the amount of information remains the same, but there is more information, so we maintain balance.

Equilibrium is always restored with some inertia, in a fluctuating manner, according to the principles of homeostasis, so and traveling back and forth in time, there will be spontaneous appearance and disappearance of things (information, structures), until a state of equilibrium is reached, then the fluctuations will stop. This is not something that occurs only with "time travel", when, as part of the normal (consistent with the progression of entropy) destroy something, then the amount of information decreases, so the result will also be the spontaneous emergence of information "somewhere else" to restore equilibrium.

PS I made this up a while ago.

Should AI music be subject to copyright?
  • Yes, the rights to AI-generated music would possibly belong to the person who used AI to generate the music.

But there are situations where the human contribution is small, then the AI does most of the work, it does more work than the human.

  • Should AI music be subject to copyright?

There are doubts about the copyright of AI-generated music. Should AI music be subject to copyright?

If AI music is subject to copyright, imagine a scenario where AI generates billions of different random songs, across the scale of diversity, this music will be published, it will have maybe 0-2 listens, but it will be officially released. In this way, the owner of this AI will reserve all possible new music in the world for himself. He will be able to sue every new artist for plagiarism, because what is the chance that his AI did not generate something similar, at such a scale of generation?

What if AI music is not subject to copyright? If, for example, they were automatically in the public domain? An almost identical scenario may occur, also AI will generate billions of various random songs, on the entire scale of diversity, this music will be published... but this time artists will no longer be able to profit from music that will be in some way similar to that generated by AI, and any new music, will be similar to those billions of songs generated by AI.

Even the artist's sense of not having created something original could be demotivating for him, even if it were established that AI music is not in the public domain and it would be possible to duplicate and monetize music similar to that generated by AI. And then another scenario may arise, that pseudo-artists will deliberately review finished AI-generated songs, and will "take over"/occupy the copyrights to these songs. It's also not a pretty scenario.

So what, ban AI music and force it to be removed from the Internet? Drive AI music underground?

However, the current law is adapted to people who have limited ability to produce music. In fact, even before generative music, there was a problem of songs being similar to each other, and about a hundred years of universal copyright was enough. Now we're firing up the roller skates.

Do you use Firefox Sync? Why or why not?
  • I use it, but when I experimented with data synchronization using Firefox Sync, it simply doesn't work, it is so unreliable and unpredictable that you can't bet on it. It's a real pity, because I wanted to use it for a cool thing, synchronizing data of one website, without having my own server for that website. It failed because Firefox Sync fails.

  • Do you use Firefox Sync? Why or why not?
  • I recommend KDE Connect, it also has this function. :)
But sometimes I use this and sometimes I use that feature.

Firefox YouTube Live Streams Keep Freezing
  • I have it too. The image randomly freezes or the entire playback freezes.
But also regular video (not live) has problems, for example it skips forward a few seconds at random moments.
I don't know if this is something to report on bugzilla. It's hard to report this because I would have to constantly record my screen while watching YouTube to catch the random moment when it happens.

I have uBlock and SponsorBlock. I'm on Arch Linux.

NeuraLink will allow you to speak entire words or sentences telepathically; when a person has no voice, the AI will generate brain-to-speak your voice, according to your choice, and play it on a regular loudspeaker for people around you. The same goes for brain-to-text when you want to reply to someone.

But going further, words, sentences, entire statements can be generated by AI, based on the emotion read from the brain in relation to a question. It may even be that you won't have to read the question at all, the chip will only ask you how you feel about a certain question or stimulus, and it will generate the entire answer itself and respond on your behalf, without even your knowledge. At the end, it may inform you what it replied to and to whom, and you can decide for yourself whether you actually agree with this answer, but usually you will agree because it is simply convenient that the AI will think about the answer for you. You don't have to make an effort or think anymore, so you agree to it.

Some people have a problem that upvotes and likes even exist. And I would go further.

Some people have a problem that upvotes and likes even exist. And I would go further. A chip in the brain that reads what you think and feel about a given entry, and automatically adds a reaction based on your thoughts and feelings. Because not everyone wants to click like, and they think about something once they've read it. And even writing a comment by AI, based on what the chip reads. AI puts the read brain flashes into words.

Zastanawia mnie odchylenie i zagłówek.

Is it normal for the monitor to change setting (refresh rate) in exactly 6 seconds?
  • Not only. This also happens when switching between TTYs.

I'm trying to move the setting to the boot stage, but it's not easy.

Is it normal for the monitor to change setting (refresh rate) in exactly 6 seconds? Shouldn't it take less time?

Gigabyte M32QC monitor connected DisplayPort GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics ASRock A620MHDV/M.2+ motherboard

    Arch Linux with Cinnamon

This is a monitor with Variable refresh rate I changed 60 Hz - 165 Hz in Cinnamon System Settings -\> Screen.

But I feel it when I turn on the computer, because it changes from the default 60 Hz in the bios/systemd-boot/console to my system 165 Hz. So the startup animation of the transition from the black screen to the Cinnamon desktop does not happen at all before my eyes, because the monitor is still switching the refresh rate (the resolution remains as it should be in the bios/systemd-boot/console).

And when switching between TTY Ctrl+Alt+F2 etc. the same thing, it takes that long and in the background the TTY is already ready.

I dream of setting 165 Hz in the bios/systemd-boot/console.

But in DisplayPort, even setting the system to 60 Hz does not help, something changes anyway.

For HDMI 60 Hz it is smooth, no waiting.

High-functioning autistic people should come out of the shadows.

They should openly say that they are best suited to rule and have the best ideas, i.e. libertarian ones.

This should not be an insult to Korwin or Mentzen that they are autistic (Asperger's), it should be an open advantage, and only such people should be admitted to the party.

Weird bug related to HDMI/DisplayPort and refresh rate and switching between TTYs.

This is what it looks like: HDMI 60 Hz and I switch from TTY1 (with Cinnamon) to TTY2 - it takes 7 seconds. HDMI 60 Hz return from TTY2 to TTY1 - takes 1 second. DisplayPort 60 Hz and I switch from TTY1 (with Cinnamon) to TTY2 - it takes 6 seconds. DisplayPort 60 Hz return from TTY2 to TTY1 - takes 6 seconds!.

On HDMI, the return takes only a second. And that's how it should always be, right? Yet every other case lasts 6-7 seconds. That's a ridiculously long time, and there's no reason for it to take that long, is there?

In turn, at higher refresh rates, even HDMI recovery takes 6-7 seconds. This is also surprising behavior. As if the system/drivers(?) only supported HDMI 60 Hz exactly, but not completely, because switching to TTY2 still takes too long.

What can I do with this? Is it only possible to count on driver updates to improve things?

A jednak każdy inny przypadek trwa 6-7 sekund.
