  • In England we had it with school jumpers, poor kids had a cheap jumper with the logo sewn on, everyone else had an official jumper.

I was one of the three or so “poor” kids in my year, and it was quite embarrassing. Wasn’t even poor, my mum was just extremely stingy and wouldn’t pay for the proper jumper…

  • Music is mixed that way, but spatial then takes a hammer to that concept.

It takes away the single interwoven sound and imo sounds like different tracks being played on opposite sides of the room.

I usually try the atmos mix for an album if it’s available on tidal, and usually all it ever does is remove the punch from songs.

  • I hate the “spatial” mixes.

Sometimes they’re done really well, but most of the time it’s just putting different parts of the song in different areas and makes it sound “diluted”.

Like, the guitar is in front of you, then the bass is behind and to the left… why??

  • I’m not Scouse, but my family is.

I’d agree with that to an extent, but I think “Scouse first, English second” is more accurate. They’d actually probably want a bit more space between Scouse and English though 😆

  • I was out recently and this came up, I asked a few people if they’re proud of their country:

    French - Yes

    Greek - Yes

    Scottish - Yes

    English - No

    English - No

    English - No

    English - No

But, to be fair, I think part of being a true English person is disliking England and being a bit negative about it.

I think the English mentality is “England’s a bit shit, but overall still better than most other countries”.

  • Fair enough imo, what’s a kid going to remember, 10 days of school where they spent most their time pissing about, or a family holiday.

I don’t know the ins and outs, but I think there should be a threshold of like 10 days a year where it’s okay, as long as the kid has good attendance besides that and it’s not around exam time.

It’s punching down from the government as it’s a working class issue. Middle class can afford the peak holiday rates, poorer families can’t.

  • I’m doing PPL, had an incredible run of going to the gym 5-6 times a week for 6 months, then hit a wall of massive burnout in August.

I’ve set the goal that September is the month to get back into it, 5 days a week and each skipped workout is £5 to charity.

I also need to sort my cardio out so gonna try to cycle twice a week. I think neglecting cardio is what really messed me up, I was just lethargic constantly and couldn’t get moving.
