The report button is always a click away my friend!
Well I would, as well as the other comments you've posted in this thread. Let's take a 3 day break to cool down, be excellent to eachother, differing views on AI isn't a reason to be shitty to others.
Trying to belittle or offend others is against rule 3, it is not being excellent to eachother. Let's do better my friend.
I don't have an answer, but congrats on being one of the few to break that friendship zone barrier
Right, I haven't seen any of them say they are doing away with SMS. Even Android who has RCS in place also has SMS along side it, RCS is just an enhancement.
Even with RCS on both major platforms in the near future, a lot of automations and companies will continue to utilize SMS, and I'd bet that's true for a long time.

Most Android phones use RCS, so it's on-subject here since most of us don't pay attention to iPhone news - and is welcomed news because of #2's answer

You ever been in a low or no signal area, but have wifi, and try to text an iPhone user? Ever try to send/receive photos/videos with an iPhone and they look like garbage? Tired of getting SMS's in group chats of "Mom loved 'Please poop in the toilet next time, we are tired of cleaning it up'" instead of it just "hearting" the SMS message? A lot of new tech coming out today started from something that "was good" and was built on to make it better.
Too many politically charged comments, locking. We are a technology community, if you want to talk politics please do so in the appropriate community.
You and I both know it was not your first offense, you're entitled to your opinion on the rest, but we don't play with rule 3 - especially when it is blatantly ignored.
Also if you'd like to get an alert for why your comment was removed or why you were banned, I'd recommend making a feature request to the Lemmy devs, I agree it'd be nice to get alerted when you did something against the rules and what rule, we post that in the mod log but it unfortunately doesn't tell the user without them digging into modlogs.
Have a good day!
Yes, we remove rule breaking comments/posts, that's what moderators do.
You've had multiple rule breaking comments, especially last month.
Also, the modlog for every community is and has been public.
Please report if they respond with their alt, they reported all of your non-rule breaking comments again - gave a temp 3 day ban for breaking rule 3 multiple times.
Thanks
Too many rule 3 breaking comments, locking this post. Let's be excellent to eachother please!
Eyo! Report this shit next time! Rule 3, dude/person was a douchebag.
Thanks for being understanding!
Typically no, that wouldn't get it removed.
Only removed because the user is getting harassed elsewhere for the signature, and the comment was border-line rule 3.
then DISCUSS it. That’s what we do here.
Just like I told you on your other account, I don't believe you understand how communities work.
Each community has rules, you have to follow those rules, otherwise your posts or comments will be removed.
Locking this post since I do not believe it is genuine, and is the same thing you did on your other account.
If they would add the ability to limit comments based on something like account age, or upvotes etc, it would be awesome.
Unfortunately the Lemmy dev team hasn't made that option quite yet, would be an awesome feature to request though!
We welcome the feedback.
This user however, reminds me of another user that was posting questions that they felt were revolutionary, but were not legitimate questions. Looking through their comments and posts, I believe this is the same user under another account.
The post that was removed (by me) that they are upset about is:
1000 years from now physics is forgotten and all that remains is the legend of two hobbits, Charm and Spin, and their quest for the Higgyboson. At this point, is physics true?
Greetings everyone,
We wanted to take a moment and let everyone know about the !business@lemmy.world community on Lemmy.World which hasn't gained much traction. Additionally, we've noticed occasional complaints about Business-related news being posted in the Technology community. To address this, we want to encourage our community members to engage with the Business community.
While we'll still permit Technology-related business news here, unless it becomes overly repetitive, we kindly ask that you consider cross-posting such content to the Business community. This will help foster a more focused discussion environment in both communities.
We've interacted with the mod team of the Business community, and they seem like a dedicated and welcoming group, much like the rest of us here on Lemmy. If you're interested, we encourage you to check out their community and show them some support!
Let's continue to build a thriving and inclusive ecosystem across all our communities on Lemmy.World!
Hey no worries, appreciate it!
Yeah, I saw some reports from both accounts yesterday that made it obvious that's their backup account. Also, not the first time they've done this, and they also spam report comments when they get angry.
Seems that a lot of us have some funny Unity memes, which have been getting removed due to Rule 7.
Making this post and pinning it for everyone to share their Unity memes about this whole fiasco, please only comment the memes here, if you make a post with one it will be removed.
Hey everyone!
We have decided to do a banner and logo contest, here is how to participate:
- Any submission must be commented below in its own thread, that way they are easy for everyone to find. Any top level comments that are not a submission will be removed, commenting on submissions thread is allowed.
- Everyone can vote on the ones listed below to help the decision, but the mods will pick their favorites and make a separate post for the community to vote on.
- Obviously the design must be tech/news related, all art forms welcome, and please no NSFW. You can submit just a banner, or just a logo, or both if you wish!
- Winner will get sidebar acknowledgement and bragging rights. If multiple designs are liked by the community, we will most likely cycle threw a few different banners/logos throughout the year and give each credit on the sidebar.
- Anything Elon Musk will be launched by Space-X directly into the sun at the speed of light.
- Be excellent to each other!
Any questions can be messaged to either @enu@lemm.ee or myself!
Hey everybody, feel free to post any tech support or general tech discussion questions you have right here.
As always, be excellent to each other.
Yours truly, moderators.
[EDIT]: This is actually a scam.
Not sure if this is normal, created a sub 4 months ago. But yesterday I signed into Reddit to check if an admin has replied to a request I made and saw this, which was a little bizarre to me with everything going on...
My company is just starting to utilize O365 email encryption for sensitive information, which I know a lot of people are already using.
One thing we've run into is when sending a sensitive email to a third-party vendor, a lot of them utilize shared mailboxes/distribution groups, so the encryption is not allowing the members of the external mailbox/group to open the encrypted email as their account doesn't have permissions (the group email address does, instead of their individual account).
The only way I've come up with to solve this issue is setting the encrypted emails to not allow a "social" sign-on for decryption, and instead only offer "send a one-time passcode" as the authentication method, then the group/mailbox receives the code to view the email.
Curious how others have combatted this issue if they've crossed it, this feature has been around a while and I am unable to find much on Google about it specifically.
For the moment, users are just re-sending the encrypted email to the external recipient that replies "We can't open this email", which solves the problem but creates more work and takes longer for everyone.
Twitch is replacing the mature content toggle with content classification labels so viewers can make 'informed choices'.
A few years ago I had a couple old and slow Optiplex's running Hyper-V, with Windows/Linux VM's, doing things like NPS, AD, etc.
Had some old equipment collecting dust, so I've built out a decent homelab and am curious if anyone else has done the same, and if so what are they running on them for fun?
In my new "rack":
- PowerEdge R430
- Running ProxMox, with a Windows VM (DC), and a Linux VM with Docker for Plex
- EqualLogic PS4100
- VM storage for both PowerEdge servers (10TB)
- Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch 24 250w
- PowerEdge R720
- Running ProxMox, with some Linux VM's, most utilizing Docker for Plex "assistance/automations" (ahem), NextCloud for phone photo backup and wife's photography, and another DC as a failover of R430's DC.
