It’s been bad for a few years at least but it has gotten even worse recently, I assume due to incorporating AI/LLM’s into the mix.

I comprehended it just fine, doesn’t change the fact that yes, it really is that simple. If you don’t like what a company is doing, don’t use their products. The problem with GDP per capita is that it conveniently overlooks the possibility that a lot of that GDP is artificially inflated thanks to money that never actually moves around and stimulates the economy, because that country is a tax haven for foreigners and shell corporations, which is pretty common in the Caribbean.
