This is a difficult statement to assess.
Thomas is multi-generational, the main series started in 1984 and ran as recently as 2021.
That’s like saying “yesterdays kids grew up with Raffi”. That dude is still touring (at least in Canada, but he’s been to the US recently) and still putting out new stuff. In fact, he refers to his “older fans”, who now have their own kids that are getting introduced to Raffi, as “beluga grads”.
Meanwhile the original Cars movie came out in 2004 but had movie sequels in 2011 and 2017, but there are also spin-offs in the universe including movies, shows and shorts.
All of the “privacy experts” in this sub wouldn’t know a certificate if it bit them in the ass. Most don’t even know of VPNs outside of the “privacy” services hawked by YouTubers.
Certificates can be used to authenticate machines to wired or wireless. This is true. They are much easier to maintain at scale than pre-shared key, especially when you run an internal CA and can issue or revoke them easily/automatically, and when you run a domain and can push out additional trusted root CAs to endpoints.
And if you have either an internal CA or a domain (ideally both), it’s very simple to have your firewall or web filter perform man-in-the-middle “attacks”. Most everything nowadays can handle TLS1.2 and many are starting to support TLS1.3. They essentially break open the traffic for inspection and re-sign it with a certificate that your system trusts so there is no error to the user. Some sites and apps have a hard time with this because of HSTS and pinning, but that’s a bit of a tangent.
I say “attacks” in quotes because they own the hardware and they own the time of the person using it.
Anyways, don’t do anything on a work computer you wouldn’t want your boss to know about. We usually aren’t actively watching the traffic, but some things are hard to ignore, and sometimes the CEO just wants to know who else has a diaper fetish for “official reasons”.
Only one I read on this list is Project Hail Mary and it was really good…and everyone I know who has read it (including people who don’t regularly read science fiction) loved it, too.
I think MicroCenter’s house brand flash media is sold “loose”, or in minimal packaging, at the register. The USB sticks are for sure, and I think the SD and microSD too (though in a plastic carry case).
Get a good stainless one. Something with a wide mouth so it’s easy to clean, and from a good name like HydroFlask, Yeti, or Simple|Modern.
They are (mostly) dishwasher safe and they hold up forever. My yeti tumblers get used nearly every day for almost three years, get loaded into the dishwasher, and just show a little finish wear from scraping it with my keys or my wedding band.
My kids use Simple|Modern bottles and they hold up quite a bit more. The kid-style prints don’t last as long, especially with kids that drop and scrape them all the time. I have a SM one too (larger one) that has held up pretty good so far (and uses the same lids as the kids, but I’ve only got a year or two on it.
Yeah, van is moving into the exit only lane. Not merging.
Van should’ve been checking his mirrors better but OP also should’ve not been going faster than the travel lane in an exit-only lane.
Imagine spending your life in the military only to be used as a political pawn.
Of course. Who the hell would both “want to work in tech” and “live in a red state”?
It’s honestly amazing that Texas Instruments is actually still in Texas.
Ngl a toilet that I can just hose off every time someone takes a shower seems pretty nice. I get my body hair from my Italian side so I’m basically a gorilla with male-pattern baldness.
That’s what MySpace is for.
Hey man if there’s one thing the defunded schools taught me, it’s that America is the greatest country in the universe.
Still won’t help me when I type ifconfig
or dig
, though.
Also I’ve noticed there is also a curl in Windows CLI that I believe is based on libcurl, but when called from powershell is an alias for (iirc) Invoke-WebRequest
.
He’s not trolling, but my guess is he read Sapiens and that’s his current gospel.
My youngest (4) is going through what I’m dubbing his “Sour Patch Kid” days. He will intentionally and directly do everything he can to make me angry. Running away. Pooping his pants (multiple times). Throwing, hitting, spitting, picking fights with his brother (7). You name it.
And then he’s sweet as a peach a few hours later. “You’re the best dad ever”, sneaking up on me to kiss my hand or give me a hug, willfully holding my hand in the store (he’s always been the “independent explorer” type), etc.
It’s really tough to keep it together during the sour part of the cycle. I’ll try to keep this in mind.
Poverty level for a family of four in Georgia is about 27k.
You mean to tel me that an income of 34k for a family of four is too wealthy for a public defender?
In all seriousness, fuck this country.
Fair point. Out of all the tech legends, Linus (and Woz) seem the happiest.
