  • If only Furio from the Sopranos was there to tell him that he has a bee on yo hat and smacked it away.

    Polo match

    Stupid facking game.

  • We already opened the rust pandoras box with things like librsvg in GNOME (which Ubuntu uses) so more Rust tooling being used is not anything new and should be promoted.

I think this move can be seen as part of Ubuntu's larger effort in innovating their desktop offering. Ubuntu's test run of sudo-rs will benefit GNU/Linux as a whole.

    More rust please!

  • Guy they tried to arbitrate out of a settlement when he died because he signed up to Disney Plus comes to mind.

  • Republican democrat two party duopoly but it's computer.

  • The US government is a failing and failed system. Un-ironically hurting an oligarch like Google's bottom line would do more for influencing govt. policy.

In the USA, a corporation losing potential profits is the closest we'll get to a peoples democracy like China that doesn't have these issues by actually being democratic.

  • How to make your tech more futuristic? Blur and glossing. Fuck high contrast. Everything must be phone now.

I can't believe GNOME gets compared to this piece of shit desktop.

  • Huawei laptops have a good track record with Linux support since they directly contribute to the kernel.

I think you should definitely grab a huawei laptop while you're there since they are significantly better than their western counterparts (Chinese OEMS love to put really good high res screens while western ones are just now shipping 16:10

  • Amazing

    Jump
  • This is really funny because GNOME's desktop interface is almost entirely programmed in Javascript which allows for high levels of control and customization at runtime since you're simply editing running JavaScript.

    Common Windows L.

  • Soon no one will be opening files anymore, you will ask copilot about the contents of the file.

Viewing an image? Ask copilot to generate what it thinks the image looks like.

This will save so much time when using your device. Soon you won't need a computer anymore just a subscription to Windows 365!

  • The bonus question is about half naked people on beaches this is a great snapshot into seppo media.

  • New York Crimes can't get itself to see imprisoned people as fully human.

  • he still has too much faith in his fellow tech bros.

    Guy's a radlib.

I call for a worldwide boycott of Chinese products, and of companies who kowtow to their demands or accept investment from China. I call for international condemnation of the Communist Party of China’s behavior and premise for governance. And I call for an ultimatum to protect our allies from slaughter.

  • It wasn't recent, the leaked copy of a very old version of Red Star OS (Debian downstream) was looked at years and years ago. The TLDR was that it was "their state surveillance" vs. "our god given right to telemetry"

Most people who have access to a computer in Democratic Korea just use Windows and Apple like the rest of the human race is subjected to.

  • The fact that it's animated is even more sus, and the host herself holds it like it's a prop for the camera.

  • Another issue with musl (and many non-GNU replacement packages) is that in addition to breaking ABI, they also have little to no language locale support which is a deal-breaker for widely released systems.

You can only do this sort of corporate hype stunt with Windows users because us GNU/BSD fellows are already aware of what we have and what we don't have.

  • Microsoft also fucked over other operating systems with things like "modern standbuy" so I'm not surprised that ACPI is also under this same boat. Nvidia has basically disrupted the entire Linux desktop for years upon years because they wanted to do graphics bs their way instead of the way the community accepted (in regards to wayland) until the Mesa people just built the userspace driver themselves with NVK and Red Hat engineers have to build their own driver.

This only highlights the fact that the entire field of computer science is gatekept by the US MIC for geopolitical leverage and immense financial gain and that we should work hard to combat it with any means possible
