  • If murder is illegal, why do you support it? The women dying in childbirth are U.S. citizens, their unborn children are not. That's way closer to murder than abortion, homie. I would also love to see your defense for why victims of rape need to carry an abuser's child to term, but I'm sure you never thought that far because your logic stopped at "durr just don't get pregnant!" If only your kind wasn't also incredibly opposed to birth control, as well.

  • Truly the end of an era. :(

Not really though since Xbox has backwards compatibility and a new store for vast amounts of these games. While some have or will be lost thanks to licensing, Xenia is always making progress and is available on newer Xboxes via $20 dev access.

When the PS3 goes, emulation on PC or streaming is the only option

    1. This is clear and willful culture ignorance and I implore you to give Grand Theft Auto V a casual play as a relevant, reasonably modern, and prevalent example of how this isn't the case.
    2. I'm not in the business of pretending I know someone's physical attributes based on some text. I've had multiple people throughout the years surprise me with info about who they are after literal years of "knowing" them.
  • And don't like being punished. How about I get a tax break if I don't speed, rather than getting my money siphoned because I'm running late? No? Then I'm gonna remain happy that we haven't implemented these where I live.

  • Probably because

    1. The n-word is dropped in a less interesting section of the rant that could feasibly be skipped
    2. It's not a hard R
    3. We don't know the race of the author
    4. The t-slur comes way earlier and is seen on multiple occasions, perhaps prompting a comment prior to finishing reading.
  • Nobody's writing reddit/lemmy essays about how great their life is, these topics are skewed toward people venting and ranting. My wife is great and has zero problems with how much I game, and I have no problems with how much she crochets or watches YouTube or watches TikToks or plays Powerwash Simulator. The only thing she's ever gotten upset about was me spending time on my phone instead of talking when we were out at restaurants, which is perfectly reasonable. She understands my compulsion to pick up and play new games, because it's the same thing for her with books on and off of her Kindle.

But even before I nuked my decade-old reddit account, you'd never find me posting about it except in comment sections like this where it was relevant, and we've been together a better part of that account's existence. I don't need advice or to express my love to anyone but her, because we're happy with each other and willing to talk to one another when we're having problems.

  • I've explicitly been using my beehaw.org account pretty much exclusively because of the constant DDOS attacks on lemmy.world.

Kinda funny how their plan to seemingly kill Lemmy is just helping it stay decentralized by pushing people to other instances.

  • We are literally on a post with game devs explicitly asking you to pirate rather than purchase stolen keys from resellers. It has nothing to do with "dealers," it has to do with the effects on the developers who have to deal with the fallout of the stolen keys. This isn't hard to understand, it has been repeated by several indie devs throughout the years and I'm pretty sure they know more about their problems than you do, pal.

  • I have Disney+ for Marvel and Star Wars, $4 Google Play rent or theater watch everything else because I'm not a big TV/Movie guy.

Had Gamepass Ultimate, dropped them when they shut down the family plan, raised the price of Ultimate by $2/mo, cut the value of gold-to-ult conversion pretty significantly, and ditched the monthly games in favor of a perpetual list of games I mostly already own.

My new preferred plan is PS+ Premium+PC Gamepass, in part because the game offerings on PS+ are actually pretty good, but also because I realized that I can very sustainably get PC Gamepass from Microsoft Rewards. They have an auto-redeem plan with a low enough point value that, if I were to do nothing except the daily Bing/Edge searches, I'd rack up enough points for the next month in 25 days. That's pretty significant for something I can mostly do sitting on the shitter.

  • Basing any assistance on race is a terrible policy that will lead to countless kids falling through the cracks because they weren't the right color and live in the wrong location. That's unfair to those kids and it's clear as day. If wealth inequality is the problem, target wealth inequality, don't slap on some half-assed racial band-aid.

  • First problem is getting the people talking to their children to care about privacy. I'm a grown-ass adult and it's hardly at the top of my priorities, regularly using Google services with Bing as my search engine to get me Microsoft Rewards points I can blow on games.

It's going to be even tougher for a kid whose friends are all on TikTok and who has no money (and would probably be delighted to learn about services that pay miniscule amounts for data, like the Amazon and Google Play ones in addition to the Microsoft one).
