I think it's going to be more important than ever that #Mastodon and the #fediverse are not centrally operated out of the US like almost every other social media platform out there.
  • @Gargron@mastodon.social 100% agree. US stands a good chance of becoming much more oligarchic under Trump, with politics starting to seep into how the company leaders operate.

They won’t call it that obviously, because they’ll be oblivious to it. But politics it will be regardless.

  • 📢 Big News!
  • @Flipboard@flipboard.social Good to hear that! You seem to be one of the few private companies in the #fediverse space doing federation ”right”.

TBH I couldn’t care less about these account duplication schemes.

    Good work! 🫶

  • 📢 Big News!
  • @Flipboard@flipboard.social @FlipboardBR@flipboard.social @FlipboardDE@flipboard.social But do they see what we say?

  • Russia Directly Targets Ukrainian Grain In Reprisal Airstrikes
  • @BombOmOm I wonder what Russia’s ”friends” in the global south are thinking now though? Are they really going to fall for the ”west is blackmailing you” routine Putler seem to be spinning? Really? 🙂

  • [Reuters] Moscow halts grain deal after bridge to Crimea struck
  • @BombOmOm @MaxVoltage OMG they are that stupid?!

There goes support from BRICS countries and the global south!

Russia had been busy acting as the anti-colonialist, getting even with their former masters… And there they go, suddenly proving they don’t give a flying fish about people in the south starving, and it’s all been a show. 😂

  • If You Support Ukrainian Resistance to Occupation, You Must Also Support Palestinian Resistance to Occupation
  • @psychothumbs Sure, if you don’t consider rocket launchers weapons of mass destruction. Let’s call them self-propelled artillery. I edited the original post so what I mean doesn’t get misrepsented. Thanks for the note!

  • If You Support Ukrainian Resistance to Occupation, You Must Also Support Palestinian Resistance to Occupation
  • @Candelestine @psychothumbs Oh yes, the details. The Israel-Palestine conflict’s bloodiness must owe in part to it also being one of the stages where the cold war served to make heavy weaponry readily available, with both sides being heavily armed by either side of the larger conflict.

I hope the days of the cold war never return. Painting a picture of Ukraine as cold war puppet state is as wrong as painting Palestine as puppet of USSR.
