  • I love OSM. Way more than google.

For hiking and cycling it is absolutely supreme to google in every way. Google will often just send you a "car-path" by foot or bike, while OSM will try to steer you to smaller, slower roads/paths (and way more of those are mapped on OSM then on google).

The main issue on OSM for me is the lacking up-to-date business information... If OSM shows shops on maps: don't rely on it. It would be very interesting if the business/reviews/pictures etc part of google maps could somehow make it (open source version) to OSM.

  • NL: Praxisdienst.nl 28 €.

If it's available for 28 € on amazon, chances often are it is available for a similar prices elsewhere, because it means the producer is willing to sell to suppliers at a price that makes 28 € a doable selling price for them, not just for amazon.

  • Meanwhile, Italy, one of the sunniest countries in EU, at about 11 % solar production. Spain is at 17 %, Greece at 19 %. Not so sunny Germany is at 12 %. Not sunny at all NL is at 17 %...

  • choice for US jets was basically obligated for many countries because they had to choose a model that is capable of carrying US made nukes stored on territory. French and Brits make fine jets.

  • Many people don't turn the hood on until food itself is creating a lot of vapor because they are usually so noisy. Meaning the hood often helps very little in practice, although in theory you are right.

  • It's still a win-win. Sweden got the nuclear umbrella now (even with Trump because also France, UK), and Sweden brings a lot of conventional power to the weak east flank of the alliance (good for Baltics).

  • everything you use own

Consumer already paid for the damn vehicle. At least market that ad-bullshit as the cheaper freemium rental version and offer a no ads purchase version... They are not at all thinking about the consumer, only about filling their ever growing pockets.

  • what's the reason the plugin is not in the main branch? Are there possible issues with the plugin branch? (data loss?) Is there a plan for the plugins option to become part of main branch in the future? (i don't want to break running things if a bit of patience for features would do just fine)

  • 2 sides to that coin. You also only need presence/trade deal once and you've access to a very large market as a whole all at once. In the end, everyone loses with throttled trade for no other reason than "I don't like them!!" Transatlantic trade has been very beneficial for both sides of the pond for many many decades...

  • Thing is there is a hand behind the back on both sides. Russia has nukes. So do France and UK, one shouldn't forget... Tho USA dropping support does change the conventional war, the USA dropping support doesn't fundamentally change this hand behind the back part.

  • The exact same happened in Belgium. They ordered F35 to replace F16 because American nukes are stored on Belgian territory. On paper there was some free market stuff about looking for the best deal, but in reality the choice was never there, it had to be American jets.

Now, I'm not overly enthusiastic about replacing USA nukes with French nukes in other EU countries. The time has probably come to properly unify an EU army as a whole, and nukes becoming a French division in a EU-defense structure, rather than a French division in a French structure 'visiting' other countries.
