Seems like half our team is carrying an injury. They all look like they need a 4 week vacation to recover.
Not yet, at least defensively. They're up for this game. We don't look it.
They are not getting the ball forward as much, but they seem to be set up for a counter.
Set plays are apparently another area where we aren't as good as last year.
I loved the response to going down and the result. But until they scored it felt like we were stuck in patterns from the past.
Saka with a monster game. They double-teamed him and he still had such a huge impact.
Hopefully this is the only reminder that we need that you don't ever take the foot off the gas.
In the end, we found enough quality to get the three points, which is what we needed.
Kai gets one for being in the right place.
Strategy. Keep 'em guessing that he's going near post, then cut back and fire it far.
Honestly, I think there's more focus from the defenders to put him wide because the cut back is so dangerous, and he doesn't cross with his right as much. I don't expect any goals from that, normally.
The lack of consistency in the yellows for delaying a restart is so frustrating. More bullshit from the refs "we have to call it" and then ignoring the next one.
FFS. Poor defending on a set piece. That's not like us.
Leo!! Perfect finish. Martinelli having a great game so far!
That's two fouls that should have been cards.
TBH, should have been a yellow for Havertz on the American football style tackle, so maybe we can be okay with it going uncalled.
Martinelli! Great spot with Timber's cross, great finish.
Shocked that's not a yellow.
I just want some consistency, from minute 1, on those cards. But since they aren't consistent, we keep getting screwed, and everyone else gets off.
A point is a good result. We just have to stop getting cards.
I just love that the ball is still in motion, so their quick free kick would have had to come back anyway.
I hoped we would start the season just like we ended and improve from there.
This result shows we have improved in some ways. I was pretty nervous for a lot of the game, but Raya and Trossard really made the difference today.
Did VAR intervene in the whole game? I know we all think they should have...
Saka is too good. Absolute perfection.
Just because the trucks are wrong doesn't mean the cyclist wasn't wrong too. I feel that going with the pedestrian signal, unless you want to walk your bike, creates a hazard for pedestrians. And just like cars, you don't get to decide on a red to just drive through because nobody's walking your way.
