Gen Z boys and men more likely than baby boomers to believe feminism harmful, says poll
  • I wonder if this trend has any connection with the rise of dating apps? Dating apps tend to be overwhelming for women, so they don't use them. Men are often unsuccessful on them. It ends up hurting the self worth of a lot of users. And men who feel like they aren't getting seen are exploited for premium subscriptions. If men are looking for an explanation or advice to the dating world, someone like Tate could be very appealing.

  • What happens when an Internet-heavy game, such as Switch Sports, loses its connectivity and most of its player base after a few years?
  • This is a problem with every online only game. Publishers could push an update for offline play (I think switch sports already has this) or a way for users to host their own server. But when a game is at end of life there's no incentive to push an update like this. It needs to be considered while the game is in initial development. Usually the server shuts off and the game dies. See Killer Queen Black for one of many examples. That game got removed from the store too, so even if you buy a physical copy you can't update the software to the newest version.

    It's sad.

Sequel/follow up to hbomberbuy's video on James Somerton about the factual inaccuracies of his content, when he isn't plagiarizing.

What game genre would you like to see more entrants in?
  • I guess I didn't elaborate but I specifically am not looking for deckbuilding rogue likes. Think more like Inscryption act 2 where you get to collect cards and build your own deck. Something like Magic the Gathering but it's all single player campaign.

  • [Lemmy active users] 28th of September was the only day with more monthly active Lemmy users than the previous one, probably thanks to the release of Boost for Lemmy
  • I had already stopped using Reddit, just waiting for boost to drop. The only content I find lacking is adult content. Memes, gaming, and news all have enough users here that even though it's less than reddit I'm not missing out. Maybe it will get me to spend a little less time on my phone. But between this and Mastodon I'm happy to pioneer a new kind of social media.
