They're big but not even close to goliaths, their 24h online is at 40k more or less, which is nothing like CSGO or apex... Their all time high is less than apex daily active sadly.
I'm not saying their system is bad, but I am saying that it is still not tested for a large scale though.
I thought I was alone in this lol
Win11 literally made me rage uninstall it after I got mad trying to remove all bloatware and then it showed me onedrive ad
Pretty sure it's crazy expensive on a large scale, I don't think that people will pay monthly fee to keep playing apex/val/insert game. And more than sure these companies will try to force players to pay for it :/ Previously I had a small chat with aimlabs devs about application of neural networks for it (detecting weird patterns and irregularities, that what NNs are good at as well) but as I understood it would be expensive as well since obviously you want to run the model on your backend's side... It's and endless war between both sides without silver bullet ATM and I don't really understand why people are so mad about my comment lol
Many people criticize that, but I can't really think of any non invasive solution to draw away cheaters, except making specialized device to play the game (sort of PS4 to play one single game only?), but pretty sure it won't take long for cheat providers to crack it as well... Sadly.
question is, what did B-52 forgot in the triangle between Vietnam, HK and Philippines?
If I wanted to use the touchscreen, I'd rather get a tablet or use my phone. I would like to see the capability to open actual apps, not just chrome. In this case, even ipad is more capable than chromebooks because it can actually run lots of stuff, even video editing software.
are you really trying to say that chromebook can do more than m1 macbook lol
please show me an example of working in blender with chromebook
I guess (in their mind) their laptops are "premium" product and making a cheap one will lead to brand damage.
Plus, I remember how bad was previous 12 inch macbook, people will probably be very catious about it (if they ever make one)
What? Apple is still releasing good laptops, m1 makbook air was unmatched for its price for like 2+ years and is still a machine that can last 6-10 hours under workload
No, I'm just genuinely interested, that's it. No negativity.
How many times did internet petitions actually changed something
or else they will block it in norway
More than that, I never saw political or controversial "influencer" content on YouTube at all. It's mostly tech reviews, memes, travel and photography videos, just exactly what I watch.
Algorithms are so good these days it's kinda funny to see someone being angry about being offered to watch the same stuff they usually watch
Tech related stuff and old memes*
Not like you can't access their community anymore
Not just titles and not just amps, it's a problem with html sanitization added in 18.2 I guess.
If your job lost 70% of its customers, I bet you’d be begging your boss to raise prices to avoid a 70% pay cut.
doing so will result in losing the remaining 30%
I think that asking to be paid for your work is totally fine (albeit I myself made my lemmy app completely free and opensource, simply because its just my hobby project), but its a rather different story when you provide app for open source, nonprofit venture-free platform and start to inject ads and trackers into it. Its goes against the entire idea of free decentralised platform and makes it closer to profit-focused app like reddit/threads/etc imo
contains adds
contains in-app purchases
collects data
shares data with 3d party orgs
Nothing against sync, but this is not what I'd expect from lemmy app tbh. There's a lot of free open source options that don't sell your data.
Asking to be paid for your job is OK, but injecting ads in ad-free opensource service, selling user data? This is just reddit-app-moment in my opinion
There's a lot of free open source alternatives :)
An app for Lemmy, reddit-like federated link aggregator
Finally sorted everything related to google's review, privacy policy etc etc and now the app is available to download in Google Play store. Its a bit behind in terms of version, but it will catch up fairly soon I hope.
Note that its in open testing right now and might not be available from search.

Decided that I have enough fun things to bump a version number and release it, especially because I myself got tired of putting new nsfw communities to block from my "all" feed :)
New name new me. Keep in mind that you will need to uninstall old app before installing this one, if you're using obtainium - remove the tracker and add it again. You will see few warnings about ap...
Thats gonna be first release under the new name. I've decided to pick this semi-rubblish name because it's fairly unique and reminds of arctic foxes, which fits the app's icon.
Whats new?

- Fixes for posting in mod-only communities
- Fixes for spelling in few prompts
- Fix for commenting on posts that only include embeds (without text)
- Fix for embed rendering
- Small things causing crashes
