(my first post!!) describe your favorite movie like if it was a clickbait youtube title
  • You’ll never believe how far this mother/daughter quarrel over a bagel goes!

  • What is something you've done that was questionable but legal?
  • Concepts like rape don’t exist in the animal kingdom

Did you forget humans are animals? If you don’t like using the word rape to describe sexually violating an animal, there’s another one we’ve come up with… bestiality.

Same for the thing about taking children away

Are you seriously trying to say humans are the only species who should have a right not to be sexually violated or have their children taken from them and killed? Since we know that cows are thinking, feeling, emotional creatures capable of forming strong family bonds… what exactly is it about humans that makes them special in that way?

  • What is something you've done that was questionable but legal?
  • Sorry, I don’t find any of the actions I described above to be sane. And if you think I’m being sensational, you haven’t watched Dominion yet, and you should. I was actually just describing the “normal” aspects of the dairy industry; the reality of the conditions these living, thinking, feeling beings live in are even worse.

  • This is Nova…

They were sole survivor of a traffic incident which killed their mom & siblings. Doing great a couple weeks later and growing fast!

What is something you've done that was questionable but legal?
  • Same here, and I’d rather be down-voted into oblivion than pretend my past actions weren’t “questionable”. I’d love to say I’m a proud vegan, but truthfully, I’m not proud of being vegan; I’m ashamed and regretful of how long it took me to become one.

  • What is something you've done that was questionable but legal?
  • For the vast majority of my life, I regularly paid mega corporations in a corrupt and evil industry to rape females with machines to impregnate them, then separate the children from their mothers shortly after birth so that I could drink the mammary secretions meant for those children (who were then murdered if they were male, or raised in deplorable conditions to become part of the process themselves if they were female).

  • Spotify raises premium subscription price for millions
  • Funny you mention that. I just got an email last week that my youtube music price was going up to $14.99/month. I’ve used it since the days of google play, before it joined with youtube and it was like $9.99 (mostly out of a dislike for spotify). But it isn’t the best service tbh, what with low-quality audio and a buggy app interface. So I was finally motivated to make the switch to Tidal this week. Loving it so far… hope they don’t follow suit and up their sub price like the others (knock on wood).

FWIW, the email I got from youtube said something about being able to sign up for a cheaper rate if I nuked my account and made a new one on youtube through a web browser. Not sure why that would make a difference, but I was too over it to even bother.

  • Square Enix Responds to Final Fantasy 16 Sales Concern, Points to PS5 Install Base | IGN
  • Yeah, their response seems to basically boil down to ‘It’s doing great if you consider it’s ps5 exclusive’, which kinda misses the point. It’d probably have sold even better than 15 if it wasn’t. It’s just strange that they’d neuter their own potential for sales. I’d have bought it too, but I’m already losing interest, and there’s no sign of it coming to other platforms anytime soon.

  • Is it worth to read Star Wars novels?
  • I remember reading Timothy Zahn as a teen and not being able to put the books down. Tbh I think his plotlines are better than the movies.

  • What series did you rewatch most often?
  • Mr. Robot

    Mad Men

  • What is something that sounds 100% false but is actually 100% true?
  • The Star-spangled Banner (where the phrase “Land of the Free” comes from) was written in 1814, 51 years before slavery was abolished. The idea that America is or ever was the land of the free is a total joke.

  • How would you describe this game?
  • It’s worth mentioning, while there are a lot of parallels to GTA, there are some important differences you should expect. For instance, there’s no ability to steal cars from others in this game. Rather you buy your own vehicles and drive those only. The game is more focused on the story and missions than the vehicle aspect.

  • Any shows that I'm missing?
  • Have you watched Mr. Robot? That’s my favorite show and in the same vein of mind-bendy, twists & turns & cliffhangers. It can be a slow start since it takes almost the whole first season to reveal what kind of show it is, but well worth it.

  • Lemmy guide and F.A.Q.
  • I'm having an issue and wondering if it's something with the way the site works, or just me.

When I access a community that isn't on my instance through my instance (for example, I am accessing this one although my home instance is lemmy.world, so the URL is https://lemmy.world/c/support@lemm.ee), I don't see all the posts or comments on that community, only certain ones. I know this because when I then access the same community through it's instance (so for example, if I go to the URL https://lemm.ee/c/support and view it, not logged in) I see posts and comments that I can't through my instance. An example is the recent post here "How Come I don't see most comments?" - when viewing it without logging in, I see the comments on that post, but when viewing it through my instance while logged in it appears there are no comments on it and it even says zero comments. Sometimes whole posts are missing. Is it supposed to be this way?

I checked the language settings and have both Undetermined and English highlighted.

    Thanks for any help

I've created a community for all things Tarot related - discussion, reading and interpretation requests, etc. I'm still getting used to the links and addresses on Lemmy so if this doesn't work for some reason let me know and I'll try to fix it.
