That and some popular Reddit posts urging us all to come here - I've seen a bunch of people who came here from the same post I did and at least one other. Woohoo! I know I'm also particularly primed to make changes like this right now, I've been working on getting away from more of the crappy capitalists recently
I'm also old and I really don't know what's going on. You're mostly right, I'm here reading stuff and it's working fine for me, but when it comes to federated instances and mastodons, I'm not sure I'll ever really understand what this IS
I like it when people argue, but it's like constructive arguments where both are making good points
This was for stimulants, I haven't tried non-stimulants yet, but I am also of a demographic that doesn't arouse suspicion
I've never seen a psychiatrist - I was diagnosed by a psychologist and prescribed by my general practitioner doctor. My doctor doesn't make me come into the office regularly, I can generally just message him for a refill. I realize I am extremely lucky (not that lucky - I can't seem to tolerate stimulants), but I encourage people to try a different route.
There was a popular post on YSK on Reddit yesterday that sent me here, and at least one other commenter I've seen said the same thing.
Not sure about posting Reddit links here, but this guy: https://www.reddit.com/r/YouShouldKnow/comments/1j7g7ju/ysk_the_reddit_alternative_lemmy_has_gotten_much/
If you have an alternative to Google maps please share. I'm working my way away from the rest, but that's one I'm stumped by. I'm considering getting a standalone Garmin, but I map things from my phone when I'm not going anywhere more than I use it for navigation. I'm all for putting up with inconvenience if it means getting away from the oligarchy, so this may be my biggest test.
Me too! I'm old and a little lost and confused, but I'm enjoying doddering around here so far.
