I used bottles for a while, until it wiped basically all of my game data. Lutris is much better imo, use wine-ge and had zero issues
For Steam Deck and AMD processors:
- Run in terminal sudo nano /etc/default/grub Replace nano with the text editor you are using.
- Find the line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT
- Add clearcpuid=514 inside the quotes.
- Update the settings with sudo update-grub for Ubuntu/Mint and similar or sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg for Arch and the like.
- Reboot the system.
- Play!
Doing this helped me, running archlinux so i used systemd-boot instead of grub.

It happens already. Windows "Defender" consistently quarantines pirated dll files i.e. EMP.dll might get flagged and you won't be able to play your game like you expected because the file is now missing and you have to restore it.

Its not even about privacy. Windows was, in my limited experience running it on decent hardware, slow and bloated, it was almost harder to navigate than a osx/linux system from a purely gui standpoint. Why do i need to install so many drivers and get rid of so many stupid games and bloatware just to be able to get the start menu to show up before my coffee gets cold. Archlinux (i know its cliche but still) was easier to install and faster by a lightyear and it comes with no ads on the start menu/clock/home screen ffs. Anyone who thinks windows is better hasn't tasted the pure ecstacy of installing something easy like Linux Mint and speeding up all of your internet doomscrolling by 20%....
But like.... what other option is there? Windows sucks absolute ass and its not getting better.
The scientist expected it to not look like this, it is not due to the solar maximum, literally no one has any idea why the oceans are not cooling. The best idea we have is that something is different than it was a couple of years ago, but afaik no one has been able to pin down exactly what it is thats causing the surge in ocean temps. And this is in 2024, when the warming is supposed to be manageable, imagine it in 2100 and beyond. We are fucked, been fucked for years, we just pretend like we have some control over nature. Full system collapse around 2050 at the latest by most estimates, and thats the optimistic outlook on the future. The capitalist system might just keep grinding along, destroying everything and everyone in its path until there is nothing left to consume.
Probably cause deep down we know something is happening and it feels like shits about to hit the fan. Ocean temperatures are skyrocketing and we can't pretend everything is fine like we have for the past couple of years
