How do adults find happiness in life?
  • Gratitude and helping others

  • Whats the best website to get Electronic components for small projects in Europe/Germany?
  • I would at least check mouser.com

Point it at Europe site and see how you go. I have had good luck with shipping from them to both Europe and Australia with decent time.

Had to batch up my orders to make best use of shipping cost.

  • What's the best way to watch youtube without adds on ios? (without premium).
  • Took me a minute to figure out how to test this as I don’t use subtitles but…it works fine. MacOS and iOS.

  • What's the best way to watch youtube without adds on ios? (without premium).
  • Look up Vinegar for iOS and install

Been using it for some years now

  • Linux + ARM laptop: good enough for programming? Or should I get a MacBook?
  • Up to you but if you can get a refurbished m1 that will easily do what you need

  • I now use debian 12.7 with audacity 3.5.1. Why does audacity record everything much louder than with ubuntu 23.10, including background noise?
  • Sounds like the gain is way different on your input.

Too high will cause increased levels of distortion

  • Dark Angels Recommended Reading Request
  • Try and sample a few. The actual content/character and writing style will make a difference and some will appeal more than others.

I really enjoyed any of the Trazyn stuff - War in the Museum is a good short story but infinite and the divine is awesome.

Picked up the eisenhorn trilogy and can’t put it down. Nice paced detective thriller in 40k universe

There are a few samples of short stories. Try them and figure what you love to read and start there. Don’t try and do the whole thing in release/timeline.

  • Mushroom learns to crawl after being given robot body
  • This is how you get 40k Orks

  • What Differentiates a Good Developer From a Bad Developer?
  • Most of the “qualities of a bad developer” are imposed by their management.

  • UDM Pro or PFsense and why?
  • If you are concerned it’s pretty easy to setup your own controller.

Only needs to be running for management. Make a local vm

  • Do you prefer to buy games on Steam or GOG?
  • I prefer GoG and will generally purchase from there as no drm and you end up owning your game.

However their client is a bit shit and has been for a long time (GoG galaxy). You really only need it for updates though.

Steam excels for games with lots of mods/workshop. It just works.

  • "Hide read posts" toggle?
  • Voyager has a hide read posts button on the main feed page so easy to get too.

  • Google Fiber is the only decent home ISP around here. What do I do?

  • If you don’t mind trying something different then give the GameBall trackball a go.

It has a lot of features and smarts that are controlled via the firmware within the unit (and as such doesn’t require extra software). Plenty you can do with extra software (same as any other device but it works well with generic)

  • What is a product that didn't live up to its advertised claims?
  • We still have one and it works really well. I suspect they were over filling the water reservoir

  • PayPal will use your purchase information and shopping patterns to sell targeted ads
  • In the beginning PayPal was needed due to credit cards not working for international payments. Now not so much. They are giving you a reason to leave.

  • Framework won’t be just a laptop company anymore
  • Alas I have but one upvote to give.

  • Sorting by Scaled is awesome

I only just noticed this option for sorting my feed. I do have a reasonably curated selection of large and small and using “scaled” gives the results I would expect across them all.

    Give it a go.
