What I learned from this is never let a physics major cook you dinner, unless you want charcoal for chicken (200C !?!)

There’s a common misconception among boomers and gen x that “digital natives” like gen z have a god-given tech proficiency. However, there’s nothing about being born with a smartphone in your hand that teaches you anything about tech.

It’s not like people are getting better at changing oil as car ownership becomes more common, right?

I have a similar problem (I think) on a ThinkBook 14.

Honestly I’m not even sure I’m in the right place; since hitting F12, F1, F2 or anything else during startup doesn’t seem to do anything, I found the “Advanced startup” option in the windows settings and hit “restart now”. That got me to a startup menu with a “Use a device” option, but this lists 9 different options all of which just boots up windows. Am I doing this completely wrong?
