  • look - i am old, so do what you want with my thoughts on this.

i have a few significant exes. i keep in touch with all of them. sometimes it’s just a birthday or xmas greeting, other times it’s a “hey! who was that guy with the dumb hair that smoked too much?” we grew apart, but at one point we had a bond. but what also happened is that we matured. (and they also met wonderful mature new partners).

anyway - the point is that you can still care for someone you’re no longer dating, and (for the most part), there’s always a place in your heart that your exes will occupy, and you can still care about them, even if you aren’t in love with them any more. it’s what makes us human. you’re wonderful for having this caring feeling for him.

tell him the words of reassurance. he needs it right now. let him be dismissive, but he NEEDS words of reassurance, and tell him to seek some guidance from somewhere; perhaps professionally.

this comes with a caveat - don’t let this situation be used to convince you that you should get back together, if that’s not what you want, and be sure to assert your belief in this matter.

best of luck to you, and also to him!

  • i am torn with this idea. i really hate when shows just keep going and going, which American series far too often do. the writing seems to become diluted and formulaic, in order to keep the show limping along, and that’s what happened with Dexter.

    HOWEVER

i thoroughly enjoyed Original Sin, and holy shit did those actors do their homework. (the casting director played a huge part in that). the show is also doing a great job of showing us the evolution of Dexter, and the story feels fresh and new, which is what the last season or two of the original Dexter was missing : new ideas.

i also enjoyed New Blood, because i am just a fan of the show, but i am unsure that it really needed to be made, and it’s here where i am currently sitting with the idea of Resurrection; i am excited for more Dexter content, but not sure it’s gonna provide anything truly new and fresh.

perhaps you’re right… maybe it’s time for them to stop making more Dexter content, and let us live with the memory of what a fantastic show it was.

  • okay - i can’t quite confirm this, as i am not in front of my home computer right now, but if i am wrong, i am certain someone will correct me.

    • use the admin account on the computer to install the game for all users, that way no matter what account is logged in, they will have access to the game
    • you will need to create a Microsoft account for each kid. best to use your account as the parent account, and have them as users/family members
    • if you have Xbox Live Gold, there’s a good chance the game will be free for you.
    • you should play too! it’s a ridiculously fun game, and there’s so many different ways to play it.

if i got any details wrong, i apologise. (except for the part where i said you should play too!!!)
