Even if you don't do anything special, you could be the catalyst for someone else to do something special.
  • This idea reminds me of an observation I’ve often had, which is that there are no true auteurs, in other words, nothing creative or special is ever the product of one person. Even in the most extreme case of an artist who lives their whole life without ever being discovered, there is also the person who eventually discovers the legacy and does the work of making it accessible to people, not to mention all the people who validate the life’s work by viewing it and relating it to their lives.

What the idea does for me is it helps me understand that I don’t need to “complete the universe” with what I do, in other words, the way OP put it is great.

  • Metroid Dread developer Mercury Steam is working on two unannounced games | VGC
  • The headline made me chuckle slightly, because it sort of amounts to “game company, having finished a game, is working on more games,” but I’ll give it a pass because I did hear Metroid Dread was good.

  • Vision Pro displays use tech designed to reduce eyestrain and motion sickness
  • It’s cool that they’re working on solutions to the problem, but my understanding is that VAC is not something currently solvable within the constraints of a tiny headset. At least right now. As proof, consider the fact that Apple didn’t mention a “light engine“ in their marketing, because, if they had that, you know they would market the shit out of it.

  • Ukraine has recaptured 50% of the territory that Russia seized, Blinken says
  • All the news stories I’ve read have described the Ukrainian progress as “sluggish“ or “slower than desired“ but if it is true that they re-captured this much territory, I mean, that sounds pretty impressive. It’s like the media’s take is always exactly wrong. At the beginning, predicting that Kyiv would fall in days and then predicting that Russia would crumble in the summer. My prediction is that the narrative will shift to “Ukraine is winning“ at about the moment their progress stalls.
