Nerd Fonts
  • They also have a script patcher that makes it so you can use any font. A really useful feature if you replace fonts in programs or games, but the program doesn't fall back to a safe font if a character isn't supported.

  • Vulkan or DirectX on Linux?
  • OpenGL is a bit like Vulkan, but discontinued since... 2014, with a single update since then. It was actually stopped because Vulkan seemed better, and both API's were maintained by the same organisation.

In general it's more likely to work on older devices, but would be less performant than Vulkan.

  • Vulkan or DirectX on Linux?
  • DirectX is a Windows thing, so you'll just have those calls translated to Vulkan under the hood (DXVK). You'll probably get better performance from just setting it to Vulkan directly.

Edit: As some others say, for BG3 specifically, DXVK does a really good job. My personal experience is that "the best" option is very patch dependent. At launch Vulkan was best, then after a few patches did DXVK ran better, but personally I'm back to straight Vulkan, for no other reason than wanting to be a +1 in the statistics.

  • Sayu reveals she's joining a company
  • She doesn't say which, but I'm happy for her in any case. She said in the past, that if she was to join a corpo, she'd join Phase-Connect, not VShojo. But she did also meet up with Matara at Offkai and talked things over with her, who knows. The counterpoint is of course that Phase-Connect has open auditions around now, and she's more than big enough to keep her current persona, something they only allow for quite established people.

  • trying to log it to a homework website.
  • The Cloudflare human verification thing checks browser parameters that some extensions block or fake. Likely caused by "Canvas Blocker" if you use that. The fix is to add the specific Cloudflare subdomain this widget uses to the whitelist.

  • Why didn't anyone tell me that Papyrus Tweaks NG is mandatory once you have too many other mods?
  • It's honestly nearly impossible to keep up with the essentials after any amount of time away. So many groundbreaking mods come out monthly, that I used to stalk the "Updated" tab just about every day.

There are so many essential and almost mandatory mods for Skyrim, lists get outdated fast. Though Lexy's LOTD list has an entire section of mostly up to date things. I'd recommend giving it a skim, though it may want you to install more mods.

  • Weekly Warframe: Garuda
  • Garuda is lovely in theory, with all the cool following features: infinite health, infinite energy, forced slash on any weapon, easy infinitely scaling damage, can fly using an ability loop, tonnes of iframes, one of the best (imo) melee weapons in the game.

I'd probably main her if not for how she actually is when you play her. Her pseudo-excalted claws take up far too much screen space, and can't be used on melee sorties. Also you can't change their skin, so tennogen is hampered if you're into that. Given so much of her kit is % scaling, she only needs a little strength, and massive range. Yet you're still often finding yourself out of range, with no other option than to just die, or ignore her kit entirely. And whilst her 4 mostly works with the default cone targeting, the augment mod making it hit in a circle makes the ability actually feel good to press. Even if the range of the ability now feels very small.

Still, she's probably still my favourite frame for actually "trying". All her synergies can be combo'd infinitely, but leave little downtime. Alt tabbing to search up a song, reply to a message, or do anything else is a death sentence. Comparatively I could just play Valkyr for mostly the same melee experience, and have the safety of her 4 to brain afk the entire map.

  • Stellaris director insists “ethical use of AI is very important to us” after generating voices in latest DLC
  • This feels like something blown more out of proportion if you actually read Paradox's reply, and of course trust it. (Reddit warning)

The highlight for me is that it seems more based on being able to add lines in the future, without having to drag the actor back into the studio for 1-3 new lines only (And that's on the generous side for what gets added per DLC). Paradox claims the original voice artist gets a fair commission from the usage of their voice for new lines, which would be nice if it's true.

  • Indie vtuber Mint Fantome is back
  • I'm happy she's back. Could clearly tell from her PL twitter that she was feeling the waters after the whole Selen/Dokibird thing.

Semi-related, but I found it a bit weird TVS publicly stated her PL account was actually her, along with Kiara and Fuwamoco. They tend to shy away from confirming past/private life accounts.

  • When I want to use free software to make memes:
  • Whilst Gimp is technically powerful, you can really tell it's made by programmers. I cannot stand the UI and shortcut defaults, but maybe I'm damaged from having used Photoshop a couple times.

  • Any tips for a returning player?
  • Only semi-major change imo is the pet rework, scanning else comes naturally in missions. Even then, the pet rework is just that sentinels respawn, and all pet types get some cool new mods.

Later in the story, you can unlock weapons that transform, incarnons, and they are currently the meta. How much you wanna gun for them is up to you, as you can do everything without them.

  • Regarding the recent spam wave in this community
  • As a user from a different instance, would you prefer we keep reporting, even if propagation of removing posts is slow, or that we report one/two and assume you'll catch the spam from there?

  • What do you do, when you've got nothing left to do?
  • Have any fun or good suggestions for other games? No need to be related to anything Warframe like.

Also, do people actually play frame fighter? I've only seen it in "Forgotten Features" talks.

  • What do you do, when you've got nothing left to do?
  • You bring up a good point in the Galvanized mods, easy for us to get, but very hard for new players. Also with the IRL stuff, but I often feel that "Two weeks of focus and then interests shift". But, could always just try code something in those two weeks :p

  • What do you do, when you've got nothing left to do?
  • The eternal MR grind, yes. Slightly off topic to Warframe, but have any suggestions for other games? Doesn't have to be anywhere related, I play a lot of stuff. (Or used to, before MMO's stole my time :p)

  • What do you do, when you've got nothing left to do?
  • I'm a bit scared of the general chats to be honest, as they got a really bad rep back on the other Warframe community social media thing.

As for the weapon idea, it may be fun, I've got both Aklex- and Akvasto Prime lying around, and they're kinda hot garbage without having invested any significant amount of forma into them. Could probably be fun to make them handle non-sp missions.

Level cap is something I wanna do, but I guess it's hard to find people with the lfg chat turned off. Could be I should turn it on again, or look in a discord.

And lastly, I do like the idea of collecting, but it seems kinda insurmountable, even though I have a lot of stuff. Funnily enough helped a friend of mine get every mod and every arcane like two weeks back, so I know it's doable. Said friend does also sit on 60k plat though, so he's got a slightly easier time than me :p

  • What do you do, when you've got nothing left to do?

When the steel path essence is farmed, when those worthless silver arcanes from netracell are gotten, and when you've had your rewards from the circuit, what's something that you end up doing?

I've always been kinda bad at catching up and farming "old" stuff, but I've eventually gotten LR1, and just don't really know what to do with myself after the usual few farms.

Therefore, I'm fancily asking for suggestions :p
