Biden left without an easy solution as campus protests heat up
  • Trump was in charge on J6. The failure to crack down then, is in part due to Trump intentionally not cracking down. I would compare this to the heavy handed crackdown on the DC Black Lives Matter protesters. You know, the one where he heals a Bible upside down. That was a violent crackdown on mostly peaceful protestors.

  • 'Trump should be worried': Republican strategist warns he's wasting his campaign cash
  • I actually think this represents something much more ominous. Everyone on here assumes he’s incompetent because he’s bankrupted companies before. He’s done that with reason, and likely it was because he’s laundered money using the trick. I think in the case of the RNC and his campaign funds it indicates he’s found fraudulent means to pay for everything and he has access to tremendous amounts of dark money via foreign adversaries. The Truth Social IPO is one possible source. I actually doubt that one because he likely sees it as his own money. PACs will close the gap, but I’d be willing to bet there’s some other scheme filling his coffers. Draining alternative sources of money for GOP candidates also enables him to manipulate everyone down ballot since they’ll be aware of the scheme or stuck on his teat. This is a very, very bad sign for politics and we’re at the endgame for a US totalitarian government.

  • Sort of. I’m saying mocking only lowers the overall dialogue into the shitter, which doesn’t serve the purpose you think. It may make you feel morally superior, but does nothing to fix the issue, and arguably further entrenches the two sides.

  • Lemmy was already dying, just look at plots of active users since the Reddit API flap. It’s going down not up. The sooner it does, the sooner a stronger decentralized platform, or newer version of Lemmy, can take it’s place. It’s current iteration is a rickety Reddit clone that suffers from rolling defederation.

  • So I spoke up to try and explain to this group the pitfall of continuing the jokes on this particular subject. Likewise everyone should speak up at PTA meetings despite the flack. Not certain my work is being appreciated by the local memelords here.

  • and then they called Moses a socialist
  • I didn’t block you from making the joke. That’s censorship. I merely pointed out the problem in doing so and that I’m done with it. Take pepe, see how the right ran with that to the point it represents racism.

  • and then they called Moses a socialist
  • There’s a universe of thing’s worth joking about, but this post just serves political agendas, mostly right wing ones, and isn’t funny. CRT has become such a punching bag it’s lost all meaning. I’ve had the experience of my (very different) field of study becoming a political football, and the end result was the field suffering for years afterwards. Those setbacks are due to the right wing of political discourse choosing to meme the subject and make it political. The very act of targeting it was the main transgression, but subsequent meming on both sides only dragged things down further.
